@@ardabars8476 i "personally" like her style i didn't say she had the best outfits... even then i'd argue that zoya has the most basic outfits just cause i've already seen the urban outfitters look paired with dr. martens numerous times in (teen) tv shows already. this is my first time seeing a character with preppy, girly outfits that isn't just a basic school uniform with a pleated skirt.

Ok but the stylist in the original show said she wanted some of the pieces to look messy on purpose. Like, because they’re elite, they wouldn’t care about expensive button ups or pleated skirts just being thrown on. Regular people would (ironing it, tucking it in) Blair and Chuck were the most put together but everyone else was sloppy. I can see a reflection of that here too.

Blair and Chuck were both "new rich" (despite their looks and being wealthier than many). That's why they had to keep up with appearances... Serena and Nate were rich for many generations, at least 3/4 for Serena, and more than 7 for Nate. B+C parents worked a lot in order to be that rich, but weren't born into that.

@@aricarly Blair could actually be old money, her father was old money hinted in the show. In the book series the family got the money from The Waldorf - Astoria hotel so maybe it translated into the show idk, but chuck was def new money

I find the wardrobe for Audrey smart. She sees everything in black and white. This is represented by how she was kinda unaccepting with Aki being bisexual, it's either he is gay or not; Zoya being an enemy or friend, never in between. Which I find really funny too because her clothes represents it. Her wardrobe seems to lean on to black/navy blues/ dark blue and white/brown pieces and never the color in between, it's always safe which represents her reserved nature which in the long, could be boring. Lastly, I find her interest to classic glamour and hollywood smart as black and white films are very prominent during the old hollywood era, which, again, represents her mindset.

I have some issues with some styling choices in the show, but I do think that the stairs looks were really good, they fit all of the characters.

I agree I think the styling really suits the characters. I think my problem is that sometimes the pieces are unflattering or awkward looking, like the stylist doesn't really know how to accentuate the body types of some of the actors.

Luna has my favorite style. I love neutral tones, simple ensembles, texture over pattern, and showing off my legs haha. Second favorite is probably the preppy blonder girl near the beginning, because I wanted to dress like that in high school

The capucine is shown to have been brand new and pulled straight out of its casing by monet. So i think it was used for the ig post to promote the brand (as she is an influencer). She didnt bring it with her from home. I think the writers use these small details to show show julien the influencer vs julien the person. Just like when she reassures zoya about the adidas x beyonce sneakers by saying they were a gift and she didnt buy them for her herself. Again, influencer thing. I think it's really brilliant.

I can't say I'm impressed with the styling so far this season. The biker shorts, the oversized sweaters and the fanny packs all look very hypebeast. Maybe it's because I live in NY and know UES girls don't dress like that. I'd say Monet is the best dressed. Jullian is way off. Audrey is the worst. She looks like a 30 year old who works in a thrift store in Brooklyn.
