I am from Australia and lived in China for 3 years before moving here to the US. Lotus Roots taste absolutely divine when they are deep fried with some spices on them. As for durian, I was personally never much of a fan with the mix of the texture and smell but if you can get past that, a ripe durian eaten plain or fried can taste like hot gooey ice-cream. It would be so much fun if you re-did the durian for another cheat day and feed it to Jesse and Erin again.

*sigh* They got Durian wrong again. I would suggest Durian ice cream and milkshakes for beginners. Then the Thai/Monthong-frozen-durian. It is soft and creamy like an ice cream. Then once you passed the Thai durian, you may want to try other varieties of durian. Maybe it should be your next challenge. To try all kind of Durian-flavored food. Good luck :D

Durians taste sweetest during the durian month . Especially if the meat is yellowish . And recently there was rumors going around Singapore , Malaysia and China that durians were dipped into some chemical so it look fresh on the outside . daikon is kaind of radish. mostly heard and used in japan. actually daikon and lotus root was used in stew togher with meat and potato and other things. durian wassss soooooooooo good. perhaps it's just not your taste. orr perhaps the durian was not ripe enough

Asha Brianna there’s only 14 fruits that are indigenous to the US. The majority of fruits sold in the US are not specifically from the US. Fruits like raspberries, apples, pears, and Oranges are not originally from here. “Exotic Fruit” are those not commonly sold in the US. Since they are not sold here, consumers taste buds are not equipped for them. Taste buds evolve based on what they are exposed to. Here’s a list of the fruits specifically indigenous to the US: Tomatoes, chili peppers, avocados, cranberries, blueberries, huckleberries, cherimoyas, papayas, pawpaws, passionfruit, pineapples, soursops and strawberries.
