Annnnnd now I'm crying. Damn, I will never be over Tara's death. I love that Amber was at clexacon this year, since Tara's death was kinda the one that started the whole bury your gays trope. As much as I love Buffy the vampire slayer, I'll never forgive Joss for creating that trope.

I agree with the fact that Buffy did popularise the trope in a more modern setting. But I think the trope dates back to the Hays code, where if someone commited a crime on screen they'd have to be punished, so if you had a gay character, the form of punishment would most likely be death. But I'm uncertain, correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the trope was always gonna get popular but thanks to him it started early not in 2010 or something like that. He also made a gay character whi was a rolemodel, and a good one. He inspired so many gay teens and adult to embrace themselfs.

Wtf they had a gay relationship for multiple seasons and she just HAPPENED to die. It’s not like no other major characters die during the run of the show. This is not like Destiel. Now that is bury your gays.

I never knew how much 12 year old me loved her until I met her and literally was on the verge of tears. She made my heart so happy and full just from a glance. When I finally got to speak to her, she said this was for 12 year old me and you guys...my heart 😭

I met Amber at New York ComicCon couple of years ago. She was extremely friendly and signed my Tara figure and took a picture. Really pleasant person. It's so refreshing when you finally get to meet people you grow up watching and admire and they are way more nicer than you could have ever imagined. Thank you Amber for leaving such a great impression. You rule!

So amazing that she got to see this vid and that you captured her reaction. I would love to see someone I admired watching something I created and was inspired to create because of them. That is so amazing! Amber being at Clexacon talking about Tara and her impact was something I didn't know I needed for 17 years and I'm glad I finally got to see it! Hopefully, we will get to see the namesakes of Clexacon in this situation. Maybe someday.

there is nothing like tara's character- and im not saying she was super fleshed out in the show or anything, im saying amber benson managed to put so much into tara's essence of beauty and that delicate softness mixed with the sharp witchy intuition so well haha. I also love how Willow as a character feels and together it was perfect
