I like the successive planting style. Switching to pro cups should give roots room to grow into the basin. Increased cleaning required, but probably worth it to most of us.

You can't switch to Pro cups in this unit. The trays are all built-in and enclosed. So you would need a whole new tray with holes in it.

If I need someone to assemble my Ikea purchase, I know who to choose. I really enjoy seeing the tech behind the garden. Never knew the unit slid forward like a drawer, or that the reservoir was unified and not independent inside. Great demo.

I wish systems like this with fixed lights had a mode where the lights brighter when plants small and you can turn dow closer it gets to light so it's not leggy when young and hot burning when tall...

Actually these lights are really good. No leggy plants whatsoever. I have the same experience with my smaller click and grow. These lights are 16 Watts but they are made so that they direct the light very well. Seedlings are nice and strong. Not the same experience with off-brand systems.

Great review! Do you know if I could plant all 25 at the same time? I am wanting to set up a system where I can start either vegetable or flowers, prior to planting in the ground.

This looks really cool. Expensive but cool. Reminds me of the fence rail NFT systems combined with a floating mat system. I guess by the time you eat up the first row, you are ready to plant a new row. The problem comes in when the first row hasn't been completely eaten.

I’m having a lot of issues with mold in my cg25. You mention fon in the video, what is your ratio of peroxide and water to spritz on the plants? I have tried cinnamon and also top covers but nothing seems to work. I would really like to try this. Thank you

I assume you mean the white fuzz? yes, they get that. Mix 1 part peroxide to 2 parts of water. That fuzz is not harmful.

Yes white fuzz and algae, it’s all over the tops of them. Thank you so much. I wish they made the pots deep enough so the plants sit flush, it would help with being able to fit better lids on top.

Hi Kris, I’m very interested in the click and grow 25 as I like that it has the 5 weeks of greens consistently however the price is pretty high on the unit. I was wondering if you are still using it? Also you said that you might experiment with it, I was wondering if you have done anything other than greens? Also do you think it yields enough for 2 people to eat from it weekly? Thanks in advance, just really considering buying one.

I am still using it! I really like it. If you see my follow up video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3bHYpuXftemZ8k) you will see that I move the plants that I want to keep going out after about 5 weeks since they can get root bound. I am getting ready to replant it this week. I think the yield is definitely enough for 2 people if you plan right. Also, they are on sale right now for $599. Please check out my affiliate link at girlte.ch/ClickandGrow25. It is pricey, but if you are looking to fit a lot of plants in a decent space it is a good choice. And it's beautiful. Mmmm...interesting. I don't know about it being a steady supply of greens, though. One tray of five small plants would not be enough greens for me and hubby for one week. He likes his romaine salad (is it a guy thing about the romaine?) every day, so even if it was all in romaine that would be two days short, and I wouldn't get my Red Sails or Tom Thumb. I think I'll have to keep relying on my multiple aerogardens for our greens. The Parris Island romaine that hubby likes get up to full eating size (2 salads per head) in 4 weeks in the harvest. My favorite Red Sails is ready in even less time. For sprouting, initial growing, and then moving up...well, my biodome from Park seed would do the same thing, and it was only $40. It doesn't have the app, but that works for me because I don't have a smartphone LOL. I just have a chart and write what I planted in the squares of my chart. Just the way this old lady brain works... Love your channel and just wish I had even a tenth of your energy, girl.

Parris Island Cos is our favorite too. But, I also like a couple of others. But, the key with having a constant supply is not harvesting whole heads at a time. You take the outer leaves and let the inner leaves continue to grow. Do this on multiple plants. And with the CG25... there is nothing that says you have to harvest all of these in the last tray after week 5. You can do the same.. let them keep going. Harvest outer leaves, leave inner leaves. But, after the roots are bound they will not grow much more. I am going to move a couple of them to a DWC and let them keep going.

@@littletechgirl2 Yeah, we do the outer leaf harvesting, but the inside can't grow fast enough unless we have at least ten to pick from at any point which my six aerogardens allow us to do. Five pods at a time wouldn't keep up with my hubby's romaine demand. I also sprout plants ahead in the biodome and move them to the available aerogarden slots when the heads finally start to bolt. That's when we have a "teeny hearts of the lettuces" salad and load the new little plants in those slots. 😁

It would not really only be 5 plants at a time, but I get your point. :) I have lettuce all over... here in the C&G, in AeroGardens, in my Lettuce Grow, and in DWC. I think the click-and-grow concept is great for someone who doesn't want or like to deal with adding nutrients and managing pH because the self-contained pods do it all for you. But I think this model is overpriced for what it does, which is essentially a soil based system that wicks water from the bottom and it takes multiple weeks to get everything started.

I agree with you in part. It's easy. It's definitely too much $$. But, it's not soil. The pods are a peat and coco coir growing medium. I'm actually publishing a video tomorrow on the plants that I moved. They have a short life in the Click & Grow. But, they can go on. Lol. Thanks for your comment!

@@littletechgirl2 Right! Soil is probably not the right term, its coco-coir and slow release fertilizer that's why you don't need to add any nutrients in the tank. They do sell pro pods that allow the root to grow into the tank but because of the lack of nutrients, growth is always limited compared to traditional hydroponics.

@traderjay Yes. I'm well aware of the pods and how they work. But the pro pods cannot be used with this unit since the whole deck is enclosed. However, you can use them with the 3 pod and 9 pods. I may try Root Riot plugs in which case I would put a slow-release fertilizer inside of each pod container.
