Man initially I was like… why didn’t he video taking it apart? Now I know. That was a pain! Would’ve had to put an R rating on it. Lol! Pain getting my big hands up in that little compartment. It took so long to take apart, I was thinking I’d never get it back together. Putting it back together took no time. Thanks for the video.

Unfortunately, there is also a rear actuator. The process to get to involves removing alot of the rear interior( seats, cargo area, wall trim), its a really involved process. The actuator sits behind the rear air ducts located behind the the rear wall panel. There are some youtube videos on the fix. It will require alot of patience.

@1RaceLifestyle
@1RaceLifestyle 8 ай бұрын
I haven't heard of them causing a battery drain. When you turn off the car, they activate and open the vent to allow outside air in and out of the cabin of the vehicle to help prevent moisture, mold and stuffy air.

Hey bro I appreciate this video I'm literally dealing with this issue now, is the actuator a major part? Like do I need to replace it? I respect how you did it yourself and I would if I had more experience with SUVs/cars but I don't want to mess anything up lol but does it need to be replaced or just preference to not hear the annoying knocking?
@1RaceLifestyle
@1RaceLifestyle 4 ай бұрын
It depends. These actuators can interferes with changing from heat to cold, recirculation or fresh air. Some of them can have heat blowing out onside and cold out the other. The part isn't expensive and it's more of a headache to replace. If it's not affecting anything major and just making the noise, if you it does bother you I'd say leave it. For me it drove me crazy hearing it so I just changed it. This actuator did interfere with switching from receiving to fresh air.

Great video but the tool to remove these little screw is always the key. I bought a patio set. That set came with a tiny ratchet. I used that ratchet the hold any hex size (screwdriver) bit. This tool was way better than the "Z" shape multi screw driver. It fit in the cramped space, and it has a turn dial to turn the ratchet. Im so relieved. Now to get it back on. How can i post a pic in comments of this ratchet? Anybody know

My heater is just warm not hot and I also have that ticking sound
@1RaceLifestyle
@1RaceLifestyle 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, the ticking/ clicking would definitely be an actuator. There are multiple ones behind the glove compartment for air recirculation, warm and cold air and passenger/ driver side. Not to mention ones in the rear for rear air and heat. Now if you are only getting warm air when the heat is on it could be a heater core issue. A good group to check out is the Dodge journey owners group on Facebook, its helped me alot. Hope that helps.

How did you drop the fuse box?
@1RaceLifestyle
@1RaceLifestyle 2 жыл бұрын
The fuse box sits on a set of clips. You will have to push it up (from the bottom) to slide it off of the clips. It should then just drop down. The whole area is a tight space so just try to be as patient as possible. If you have to force it then you will probably break something. Its a pain in the Butt, but You got this!

Mines only blow cold the heat is not coming out is that’s the same
@1RaceLifestyle
@1RaceLifestyle Жыл бұрын
If it's only blowing cold/hot on one side, you could have a stuck or broken blend door, low refrigerate, low on engine coolant, or your heater core is going bad. I would start with the less expensive stuff first. Check your engine coolant, turn on your air, and turn it to heat to see if you hear the doors moving behind the dash. You can always find videos on how to check and top off your Ac Refrigerate. Everything else, including replacing the actual blend door, requires taking the dashboard out of the car, which is a very lengthy and expensive process. I have since sold the journey. As much as I liked the vehicle, I was offered a really great price for it that was too good to pass up.

Is this for heat or for ac Do you know which one is for the heat
@1RaceLifestyle
@1RaceLifestyle 3 жыл бұрын
This particular one was the actuator to change from outside air to recirculation. There are a few different actuators. This one is on the right side. There are about 2 more on the left side which may be the ones for ac and heat. Dont quote me on that. I just know the one I change works off of the recirculation button and opens by itself when you shut off the car. Good luck!
