I met Devin in person once and I can remember feeling like he had stepped out of the T.V. and into reality because he was as sincere in person as he is on the screen. He was so personable and a good listener. I didn't even let him know that I knew who he was until the end of the conversation and when I mentioned it his reaction was very humble. May God bless his retirement with joy and many years to do the things you're already late for.

I remember when watching the news at 11 with my parents was what I did every night before bed… I remember when Devin started, and I thought, “who’s this clown?!” because I was upset Mort Crim had left… I moved away to the Lansing area in ~1998, but I will always remember a classy group of newscasters in Mort, Carmen Harlan, Chuck Gaidica, Bernie Smilovitz and now Devin.
