The chapter ring gets a little extra bling in this episode, with the addition of an ornamental bezel. Plenty of lathe and milling operations in this video, as well as some of my favourite activity at the moment: hand turning with a graver.

@Clickspring
@Clickspring 9 жыл бұрын
jimmydiresta Yes exactly right. The up and down of the quill doesn't really show up that well on the high speed! Lift, index, cut, lift index cut... 108 times. It took about 40 minutes I think for the whole piece. Very pleased I didn't mess up the indexing! Thanks for watching Jimmy.

Clickspring something in one of your other videos tweaked my interest in seeing how you got that pattern into that ring. So I came back a few to see... I bet those last 5 or so cuts had the apprehension ramped up to maximum. Did you have a kitty-Cat plan in place, just in case they didn't quite match up at the finish?
@Clickspring

Its fair to say I was more than a little bit nervous on those last few cuts! No real plan B... if it didn't work, there would be no hiding it. Thanks for watching and asking!
