I used mine with a 1.4 x iii converter a lot. It was brilliant even at f/5.6.

I owned one of these using it on my 1DX and 5Diii. It was magnificent. I felt like I was selling a child when I was forced to let it go for financial reasons. At least I still have thousands of RAW files to pixel peep and enjoy ;)

YES! Depending on your source of course. I purchased mine from KEH.com here in the states last year for a significant discount and have LOVED the glass.

frostybe3r I think it’s just personal preference. The 500 is big and heavy... and the 600 even more so. I don’t think I’d want to lug around something even larger for just another 100mm focal length. Hand-holding for me is difficult enough in low light. But that’s just me 😁

@@indigo_hawk I'll get the 500 II, more worth for money, I have an R5 and can crop easily for small birds, 100mm isn't massive but the length of the lens is massive.

frostybe3r I now use the R5/adapter/500 combo. It really is long and keeping it in my passenger seat is comical at times 😄 Good luck, you will love it.

Yes perfect with the R5 Auto focus and tracking is flawless
