Elvis was unbeatable as an entertainer or as an interpreter of a song and he in almost every way was better than the original songster; think for example Frank Sinatra’s rendition of My Way or little Richard’s rendition of Long Tall Sally, However, cliff Richard’s rendition of The Twelth of Never was the best of all. I will throw in one caveat: Elvis’s version was an impromptu recording and was not developed by him and I suspect had Elvis done a developed serious recording he would have nailed it and done it better than anyone - including Cliff Richard.
