forgot to mention Soyeon collabs you really should see: WOW THING was one of my top songs of that year, Seulgi (my Red Velvet bias) x Soyeon x ChungHa (soloist, former member of I.O.I the great temporary gg from P101 s1) x SinB (Gfriend dancer). It's a crime they never got to perform it live together on stage or award shows, but I'm guessing the song only choreographed what little was in the MV because the 4 girls were from different companies and typical scheduling issues meant limited time to do choreo K/DA - POP STARS such a great song includes (G) I-DLE Soyeon and Miyeon (former YG trainee was almost 5th member of BLACKPINK, I can name multiple YG trainees that went on to join my favorite groups like Seoyeon in FROMIS_9, Chaein & Ireh in PURPLE KISS and Euna Kim in THE ARK a great group a small company screwed over and later in underrated duo KHAN also screwed over by another incompetent small company so she retired). K/DA - MORE another great song same members of (G) I-DLE as previously mentioned these 2 songs are why I'll NEVER be a fan of a certain other 4th gen big 3 girl group, because their concept feels like a bad ripoff of these 2 K/DA MVs combined with recycle anime plots and the idiotic notion that their CG counterparts are additional members of the group (nothing against the members of that group but hate the concept and the music is meh). It feels like the other big company saw K/DA was popular with gamers (League of Legends tie in) and said hey mimicking this concept and adding a cheesy unnecessary backstory will make it easier to promote our new unknown group... Again, THANK YOU for checking IDLE out! I hope you'll check more of their contents, songs, series, guides, etc. As you may have known by now, they create their own music, from concepts, writing, production, composing, etc. especially by SOYEON (rapper), as well as the other 2 members YUQI (deep voice) and MINNIE (nose-bleed girl). This is why their songs are so versatile, ranging from fun to horror. And the lyrics and stories are so captivating because they really thought of it while writing. OH MY GOD: -OMG is their title track for their 3rd album "I-TRUST" and probably the most talked MV they had. -The lyrics can mean so many things, and this was actually what SOYEON wanted. She said that she left the song vague for everyone to interpret, even the "SHE" in the chorus. SOYEON also said that we should "TRUST" our interpretation to the story, thus suggesting the title of the album. They revolve around this idea and their concept (versions) are the LIE (white) signifying a white lie, things that we want others to like, and TRUE (black) which is the dark truth we often hide. -About the "SHE" in the chorus, SOYEON explained that you can think whatever you want about it and added "Songs should not be bound by gender since songs are for everyone." (non-verbatim) -Most theories went from forbidden or toxic love, lgbt love, and even biblical. Up until now, theories are there and no concrete explanation was released by SOYEON or the members. -They also have and English Version (included in b-sides), and a Japanese Version where they shoot a whole new MV. Thanks for putting on (G)I-DLE. I Trust (the album Oh My God appears on) is still the only album fully written by a girl group that Kpop has. Soyeon wrote every lyric. That's an industry achievement. Just to flavor this group some more, I would really suggest to check out their song "Put it Straight" and then watch their Queendom release of "Put it Straight (Nightmare ver)". Really shows how talented this group is in terms of flexibility and how entertaining they can really be from lyrics, choreography to remixes. Plus they're just straight hotties lol. You would probably die in your chair going through all the G-Idle performances on Queendom especially Soojin's solo on the show. Here's a thumbs up for another entertaining reaction.

The video is just about temptation and about corrupting the divine, different from what many interpreted, as just the love of two women... Minnie - At the beginning of the song it shows the first angel being corrupted, touching the transparent gel means purity and the change in color to red represents sin! So much so that at the end of the video it shows her with black hands! Sooyon - The one with short hair. First corrupted angel! Yuki - The Angel who guards the heavenly gates, has a little glimmer of temptation (Demon) and lets his guard down! Meyeon - God on his throne, in the second verse shows the fall of God due to the failure of the one who guarded the heavenly gates! Soojin - Demon (Temptation) the purple satin ribbons represent chains where the entity was trapped and ends up coming loose... Note, the weather in the celestial realm changes to dark and purple, the background shows servants dressed in black as if they were consecrating the ascension of their God, Demon the attention. Shurua - Rise of a New God and His Fall! Part where she appears in a big white dress. Final - All the angels in limbo carrying their crosses for their sins! Well, explaining in a shorter way!

I think this song is really important for Soyeon's personal beliefs and her christianity. As a lot of fans know Soyeon is christian together with Soojin. And i mean, even here there are literally crosses everywhere at the end, brought up by the dancers.The white apple, that means yes, you can bite the apple of knowledge and feel all you want cause if you feel pure with it, it's not a sin (with the right restraints obviously,lol, like..."do not kill"). And with "THAT is not a sin", THAT could mean anything. Soyeon said that the "HER" could be anything. Anything you feel pure but at the same time wrong about.The point of the song is "whatever people are saying, love what you want, cause if it makes you feel happy then that's not a sin for God". That's why she's praying to god in the middle of the song and in the chorus/title...it's a prayer in which she says that she knows it's not a bad sin since she's feeling so tempted to something she feels good and Pure with. And god could never punish her for pureness, literally. The title itself suggest she's talking to God

The English version of Oh My God this leaves nothing to interpretation. Clearly about a woman tempting another woman and her giving into it. That’s why you see the imagery of angles and demons. Soojin’s(blonde) character is the temptress and it looks like Minnie(bangs and braids) and Soyeon(rapper) give in and are condemned or go to what seems like hell for it. Also if you notice Minnie’s hands throughout the video they start to become black starting from her fingers going all the way up her forearms. Also, the dancers are also covered in black handprints. My theory is(haven’t seen this anywhere else) is that the more she gives into this homosexuality it presents itself as her arms becoming more and more black which is why you’re seeing black hand prints all over the female dancer’s bodies

I stumbled across this M/V a couple of weeks ago and it grabbed my eye and ear. I find the cinematography stunning and the song some what haunting. The drop for the chorus is slow, smooth, and deep, it's very alluring. And the tone of that bell and it's placement in the song just adds even more depth to the visuals. My jury is still out on the group only because I haven't had time to listen to more of their material. But, I really like this song. I agree with you, on the surface, this is a complicated song to figure out, but that's ok bc I don't mind listening to it a couple more times. Always enjoy your reactions and comments. recommendations and links below... OH MY GOD and LION are their two best songs by far. The first 2 releases LATATA and HANN are also recommended. Their title tracks can be hit or miss for me, but that's just a result of writer/composer/rapper Soyeon trying different styles. Her solo EP was not what I was expecting and her rap song with 2 featured rappers wasn't really to my liking (I prefer BIBI solo stuff check out KANZINO and Korean-American rapper Jessi's music to that song, saa Soyeon's appearance on Jessi's talk show, see Jessi WHO DAT B, DRIP, NUNU NANA, not sure if your heart can take the DOWN MV). (G) I-DLE is not one of my personal top groups and typing their name into search engines on Kpop stores is a pain (though fromis_9 isn't without it's challenges on some stores search engines), but my biases in this group would be Soyeon and the sadly former member Soojin (bring her back! CUBE is a garbage company see how they mishandled previous girl groups 4 MINUTE and CLC and the whole HyunA & DAWN thing). Of course let's give a shout out to Thai member Minnie who is good friends with BLACKPINK Lisa (also Thai member of CLC Sorn), they go out to lunch but Lisa isn't allowed to be on camera if they livestream with her at the table because YG is stupid about some things. For Kpop rappers of 4th gen (groups debuting 2018 to now, BLACKPINK is 3rd gen), my two favorites are Soyeon here and PURPLE KISS Japanese rapper Yuki who writes her own raps in Korean. Another Kpop girl group that I'd suggest is PURPLE KISS (2nd EP Hide & Seek on Sept. 8) We know BLACKPINK are the queens of 3rd gen Kpop and the best girl group, next check out PURPLE KISS, the most talented 4th gen girl group... PURPLE KISS has great vocalists, a really good rapper and great dance line.
