In the early 2010s, I believe that the nu-atheist moment, whilst well-intentioned, softened the bulwarks on the Quayle/Falwell type of Christianity (which had jumped the shark); intending to guide society on the path of logic, wisdom, and reason. Unfortunately, what the nu-atheists didn’t foresee, was that people in general aren’t rational or reasonable. We’ve seen the rise in intersectional critical theories (queer, race, gender, cynical, and other derivatives) taking center stage in praxis, accompanied by a lot of rage, misanthropy, belligerence, social illiteracy, and histrionic narcissism. For better and for worse, the undercurrent of religious structures in communities kept people engaged, socially, in a positive way. Unfortunately, social media has also given rise to epistemic bubbles. As to what the other dude said; while the Trump election did have an effect on lifting the veil on how unhealthy society actually was, I actually think that the people that reduce everything to “It’s Trump’s fault” make up a significant component of the problem.

I watched a recent documentary on cloning and how it became what it is today, and the general consensus from the lead scientist that pioneered it is - it misconstrued that cloning creates life from nothing. It BORROWS existing life in order to create/replicate life. It was certainly interesting to see that statement given the complexity behind what they had researched and developed.

I miss the good Old Days of common sense, rational discourse, sanity and clarity when people could have good conversations. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. It's fascinating to see the difference between college kids in the 90s vs today. These kids were seeking truth. They weren't jeering and mocking, they disagreed respectfully and wanted to get into the argument itself rather than become a court jester.

I agree there were some that were rude and there always will be,but we have to agree that it's gotten worse. Today's youth have deep hate for Christ. Somehow I think the teaching of evolution has a hand in it, because evolution doesn't involve God it disguises itself with "science" .

I wanna hear the guys next argument, if any. That was one of the most honest, respectable, and flawless exchanges I have ever seen in a debate. Cliffe I believe this video is not as viewed as it should be, this answers a LOT of common questions and misconceptions about Christianity, Christ, and God. Every time I watch ur videos my faith grows stronger, not because watching anything alone improves my faith, but the second I started truly taking Christianity, I started watching your videos, and every question I have had so far has been answered almost perfectly. You are an incredible Christian, and most often use citation directly from the Bible, but also use verifiable evidence and very strong logic to connect the dots, and communicate it in such a way many people can easily understand it.

Around 23 minutes in the origin of life thing is brought up. Now, back in 1997 Cliffe probably couldn't have known this, but in more recent times James Tour, one of the world's most renowned biochemists have challenged the origin of life community. The basic story is that Darwin speculated about some primordial soup, or pond, filled with chemicals and getting struck by lightning and such. This is still taught today, heck in was in Star Trek. Well then in the fifties a scientist whose name I forget mucks about with chemicals in a lab, and manages to create something that looks like the building blocks for life. This further strengthens the theory, and today many origin of life researchers are still going at it. They express much faith that science will eventually figure it out. That's where James Tour comes in. On his youtube channel he has issued five chemical and biochemical challenges to the origin of life research. If anyone can answer just one of these questions James Tour has woved to shut down his entire channel. To this date no one has provided any kind of answer to his challenges. Anyway, look into it, but the gist of it is that it looks increasingly impossible that life arose from basic chemistry, and that wasn't know too well back in the 90s.

Regret can’t exist in a vacuum, the mere concept of feeling regretful implies there is a different course of action and/or feeling you would have rather taken. So in the literal sense of the word, regret could not possibly be the initial feeling felt, there would first need to be an emotion/feeling strong enough to then bring about regret into the scenario. Curious to see if people agree because I don’t think I’m wrong on that

This is why I read no other translation of the Bible but the KJV. At 16:55 mins when cliff reads the book of Luke chapter 3:14 about the soldiers asking and what shall we do? I noticed that he read in the verse do not extort any money. But in the KJV it clearly says do no violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages. Luke 3:14 (KJV) And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

However, some newer translations are definitely worse and definitely twists scripture, such as the new living translation, the passion, etc. Most classic translations like the ESV, KJV, and NIV are perfectly fine

Thing is, whether God is real or not, having religion makes life more peaceful if we all follow suit, both communitively and personally. Why would people want to fight that? I believe in Jesus because I've practiced the Word. Im not perfect but my life gets coincidentally better when Im walking in my faith rather than when Im backsliding. God has saved me from myself more times than i can count

That is a HUGE “If”. So much so that to conclude it is a truth traverses the delusional psychosis. To premise one’s life upon a delusion is living an inauthentic life because an authentic life is firmly grounded in the “real” as being True. An inauthentic life makes truth out of fantasy. Besides, it is a kind of pathology to be so fearful of death that it leads a person into fantasy and one becomes to attached to such fantasies they become “real” in a mind that should know based upon virtually every example of the external world there exists NO empirical evidence of such fantasies being real. So for any truly inquiring mind one has to wonder… why are such fantasies so widely accepted? It’s definitely NOT because of any objective evidence a believer can produce that is convincing. Instead, it’s because of emotional insecurities, constructs within one’s own skull that conveys a certain level of comfort. One might consider it a coward’s worldview because rather than accepting everything known about the real world, acknowledging all the imperfection of the real world, such people retreat into a universe of pure fantasy. One might compare it to the other form of cowardice… suicide. Except in this case it is intellectual suicide.

Hey there!! How's my favorite atheist? When I was an atheist, I also affirmed human value. I grounded it in the reality that other humans were equal to me in value. As a theist, my reason for affirming that value isn't that I'm commanded to. It's that I believe that each and every human being is an image bearer of God. I have to say, it is still very refreshing to have an atheist that isn't afraid to take on board human value and objective moral values instead of denying them to avoid the hard work of grounding them. Kudos to you.

Absolutely Tennethums, human morality, and the ability to adapt our morals for the betterment of mankind so that we can cooperate and thrive as a species makes us what we are. We define morality, we don't have to depend on any ancient scripts, if you actually go through the 10 commandments one by one, very few of them deal with moral issues, and the ones that do are very vague, they seem to have omitted some very basic tenets of human decency, there are no references against things like rape and torture. "Thou shalt have no other Gods but me" ? That one commandment on it's own rules out over half the population of the planet, and has nothing whatsoever to do with moral values.

Perhaps a vague, highly disputable notion of the betterment of human wellfare, or perhaps some half baked evolutionary concept for morality) differs completely from the Biblical view grounded in God..hence the first commandment on which everything else is firmly based. Thinking the Bible should be read literally as a collection of do's and don'ts is a very shallow action verging on irresponsibility for your eternal life.

As long as I’ve been an Atheist (30 years now? - I probably said I was Agnostic, prior to that), It’s only been fairly recently (10-12 years?) that I’ve seen this “moral dilemma” used as an argument. I have moved forward a little in my devilish attempts to sway everyone; just last night I received my first wireless mic set! It’s a good one, too (Hollyland Lark M1) and the reason for it is because I’m tired of repeating myself. So, I’m going to start my own video channel where I’ll be explaining these recurring topics like morals, Evolution, etc. To rush things along, my first “videos” might just be audio content w/ some static background image. The first though, for sure…is on the topic of supposed “argument from morals”. I have a little bit of work ahead of me before I can get my first one up (editing software, determining if the iPhone is a good enough camera, etc) but my goal is to succinctly explain why these arguments in these videos I see, are false.

It's obviously not the burden of proof for believers but God Himself to meet the burden of proof which He has for us Christian theists despite what Atheists claim are just unsupported claims. This has nothing to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers. Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of but not macro or micro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. @@Theo_Skeptomai well first I'd have to start of saying that it's a terrible thing that many of you guys like to make god the bad guy as if he's the one doing all the damage or as if he's the reason there's so much suffering bc he's not doing anything about it. It seems we forget that there's a devil, lucifer, demons around that are actually the reason why there's suffering and all kinds if pain. Another thing is that many people fail to realize that the after life or a realm is real just because you don't have the power to see them doesn't mean it's not existent I've got plenty of friends or atleast people I know that do actual black magic, witchcraft and speak to demons. They have I know a guy who has the power to speak to plants and bring them back to life I've seen it with my own eyes. The bine says people aren't believers because of lack of knowledge which seems to be true. It's best to understand that we all can only speak for ourselves so personally I have spoken to god many times, since he has no physical form he makes sure to communicate with the things around us or through prayer its not lijr we can't speak to him lol. Most of all I see many non believers like to say how could a good god make hell and send his creation their but really hell wasn't made for us it was only for Satan and his demons but unfortunately people send themselves to hell by their lifestyle people wanna walk into God's house with dirty shoes and god won't have it what god does Is always good and many people don't understand why God has to do things in a certain way it may seem gruesome but its just they way things are he created us to enjoy his creations such as nature, animals, pure grass, blue skies all the things he made way before humans the purpose we have is that we are made in his image by creation man from the ground itself and women by the rib of man, all god wants is a relationship with his creation thats the reason he created anything in the first place but sadly nobody wants anypart of him simply because we don't have enough letters at our Doors from him or the fact that we can't see him when he literally has no physical form I could be here all day breaking it down not all non believers are like this but the ones who have hatred for god or aren't even interested even if given proof is just ignorant and would rather be in hell for no reason the reason for Christianity is not to control people it's so we can be with our creator....well I was specific😄

Nowadays I I'd usually keep my mouth closed and let these people learn the truth on their own even if it has to be the hard way through death, god his followers have been wanred about how life after death looks like to an unsaved person and unfortunately it's not good so if someones dies finds themselves in hell all well 🤷‍♂️theyprobably didn't want anypart of god anyway they can have a good time having a party downthere like they always say...sadly many will will have to die just to see the truth but by then its to freakin late. So for you my guy if you want God plz go to him allow him in your life all he wants is a relationship with his creation now if you die in your sins especially if God is real then I'd hope he will give you another chance after or before death comes your way we all are gonna need It.

There was a family in my first church who immigrated from Europe and established a highly successful landscaping business. They served faithfully in the church, lived exemplary lives as believers, tithed and supported Christ-centered ministries, extended hospitality, visited the invalids and widows, fed the hungry, sheltered the homeless, and so on...and managed to remain rich

A lightining strike cannot multiply atoms to make life possible why its simple when lightining strikes it doesnt automatically become a conduit it simply becomes hot and anything lightining touches is hot its not a car batter known as ac its a powerfull dc thats needs an ac to make molecules because with tomuch power it destroys instead of making 2nd point atoms when you apply energy becomes an atom bomb 3rd point and final u have to have the exact number size and amount of amps and volts to make molecules produce and that good sir is 3 good reasons why a primordial soup cannot create anything but more soup it will not become life it will remain what it is forever because the design proves that it cannot

Yo, I know this vid was just uploaded, but how old is it? Why is everyone dressed like it's the early 90s?! However, the video quality looks modern. That's weird to me. BTW, this is one of the best teachings I've seen from Cliffe.

Exactly I miss the good Old Days of common sense, rational discourse, sanity and clarity when people could have good conversations. AMEN brothers and sisters in Christ our Lord and God bless brother Stuart and Cliffe Knechtle's Apologetics ministry even though Cliffe's getting older but he held his own pretty well explaining Christianity and theism to these people. It's obviously not the burden of proof for believers but God Himself to meet the burden of proof which He has for us Christian theists despite what Atheists claim are just unsupported claims. This has nothing to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers. Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of but not macro or micro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". Why marry and do all this work instead of just always preaching about God? Why not show the image of God in whatever you do for a job? I teach, reach 70 this year, and have no plans to retire. I still am able to play full court basketball with my high school students, thanks be to God.
