This is such a moving song. Clifford played this when I used to visit him and it is the one song that takes me straight back to sitting in his studio listening to his wonderful and evocative music. We have just made a film on the great man with his family and friends from the music world that's out now on dvd 'oh, and by the way..the Clifford T.Ward story' from Amazon.. I realise it's a plug but I dont care as his work is worth sharing. Keep playing his lovely music...and if you can, check out Steve Jones CTW facebook as he is trying to raise money to restore Clifford's memorial bench..it is the only real memorial to Clifford and a lovely place to visit as a fan..I wish that project well!

Whenever I come across a Clifford T Ward song I haven`t heard before, I`m never disappointed. His lyrics, music and presentations are superb, and he is up there in a class of his own as singer-songwriter. This song is no exception!

Another beautiful song from CTW. Outwardly, it appears that there is a dearth of young, talented musician/songwriters at the moment, but in reality it couldn't be further from the truth. The problem is the music industry, who have no interest in investing in them or giving them airtime, preferring throwaway forgettable pop.

So hugely underrated - what heights might he have achieved, had he lived longer? I simply love all of his work.

Reading all these comments, and the comments you find under very CTW song on YT, I'm just so glad there are so many people who recognise what a wonderful balladeer this man was. His songs are all from the heart, they touch our hearts, and Oh! - the melodies. I hope that one day the penny will drop in the world of British popular music that Clifford was the finest singer songwriter balladeer we've ever had or are ever likely to have.

What makes humans special. People like Mr Ward being able to produce such beautiful human creations as this. Lyrics for you ladies and gentlemen: I want you to know That it's workin' out alright I found a job and things are lookin' up An' if you join me soon we can celebrate and Put it all back as it used to be But I take it that you're still not free. I'm sure you can tell That it's still the same old me Just a dreamer in a low profile With promises and half attempts to learn And bring about what was meant to be But I take it that you're still not free. And still you hesitate Don't leave it later than you have to Don't make it complicated Leave tonight an' I'll be waitin'. I think I can see That you've found a new life now An' it's not includin' me But if things go wrong an' you change your mind, well You know I'm here where I'll always be But I understand you're still not free. INSTRUMENTAL And still you hesitate Don't leave it later than you have to Don't make it complicated Leave tonight an' I'll be waitin' . I think I can see That you've found a new life now And it's not includin' me But if things go wrong an' you change your mind, well You know I'm here where I'll always be But I understand you're still not free.

From the LP Both Of Us, an absolute gem which failed to impress the rotten music industry of the UK at the time . He wrote letter pushing it and visited people in control but they said he was not commercial enough. Parasites galore who have no idea what makes good music, leaching off great artists. It is still happening today: my nephew Jack Kenworthy (Colouring) is as much a genius , song composer and singer, but much better pianist than CTW, yet he has had crap management including one who thought his music should never get to Radio 2. AS for the BBC TV , that dead hand. when it comes to featuring any good young musicians , cannot do anything more than give occasional 5 minutes airtime to beautiful but boring young female" singers" aged about twenty or pushy Americans over here to advertise their standard packaging. There some brilliant musicians in the UK but the BBC have no interest in seeking them out. Oh, no, they think the proms is the only required music broadcasting! Derrrrrrrr!

Reflection on '12th Night' Where I to cast my lady I'd place her on a beach Shipwrecked in a foreign land forever out of reach I'd cast from her most inner self a brother most divine that she could best become there as a friend of mine to probing all his deepest thoughts of love that always bind far away from comfort in another time the essence of her friendship and the fear of it's neglect She'd search a distant dukedom for love that she could find and play a kinder music there much sweeter than is wine My love is now a cast away Whoes song she's yet to sing The beating of her heartbeat there sees good in everything Around her rings the laughter for every tear she's shed My ladies only human tho I mourned her when she fled
