Awwww thanks mate. I think so too. There's a few places that would be ideal for a investigation. I'm thinking of returning to the WW2 mortar that's further down the coast for one. Aww bless her. They are well behaved boys. They amaze me how intelligent they are too. We lucky to have them. Aww thanks you guys. That means a lot to me. The videos have really been helping me. I didn’t realise how high the cliffs are on the back of that beach, you can see it gets a pounding! Odd that they have sealed up that pill box, when others are all left open. I bet hayle home guard would be detailed to be on guard in that pill box My grandfather was captain of sennen home guard, he spent many a night in the pill boxes over looking sennen beach. Toby must be feeling lighter, he is running faster!😀

Hiya mate. Hope you're having a good day. The cliffs around there are pretty high aren't they. It makes that part of the beach feel really epic. It is a shame to see the pillbox all blocked up isn't it. I would have loved to have gotten inside. I really want to visit some pillboxs and bunkers in the future. I'm really fascinated by world war 2 history and history in general. I really want to visit some of the beaches of Normandy and battlefields of Europe. It's really cool to think of the home gaurd being on look out along the coast. Bless your grandad for doing what he did back then. I've always loved the home guard. And the show Dads Army. I was watching it the other day. Its a classic. I think you're right mate. He is isn't he bless him. I bet it felt so much better after having his fur trimmed 😊🐾

@ Well the two pill boxes are open on the hill going down to sennen cove. Even the beach was mined during the war. Yes grandfather survived the first war, he did loose his right arm and shoulder though. Then in 2nd war he joined the home guard. They were a tuff generation for sure!! From what my mother told me it was a bit like the dads army tv show sometimes!🙂

I'll have to pay a visit to those pillboxs along Sennen Cove. It will be a good day out. Your grandad sounds like a amazing person. Imagine having to go through the first world war. It must have been horrendous and beyond imagination. Bless them. I heard the same thing about the Home Guard. I bet some people at the time thought they were just playing soldiers. But they were extremely brave. And willing to lay down there lives if it came to it. Thankfully the invasion never happened. They really were a tough generation. We all owe them everything 😊
