This game is so freaking detailed. It looks and feels so awesome...still I prefer IL2 1946...mainly for the custom battles and the huge amount of aircraft to choose from. A remake of 1946 with these graphics would be awesome.

You "can" run with either but a joystick or flight stick is highly recommended as it allows supreme control compared to the latter and im fairly certain you can run a three screen display

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946: Forgotten Battles is currently the best combat flight simulator there is. But this newer version, Cliffs of Dover, still have a lot to be worked out. Require a extremely powerful PC despite the graphics are not that good, and got only 25 flyable airplanes so far.

1C Company, The trailer is fantastic! This surpasses the IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 combat flight simulations by leaps and bounds! Cliffs of Dover is certain to be a global hit. I have posted a link to this at the website of which I am an Administrator. ( Name not posted here in respect to you. ) The tracers are much better than previous IL-2 and thank you for the quality of the whole simulation.

Clod has just had a patch update and has improved performance massively. The sequel is currently being made and I have every bit of faith that this time we will see a sim worthy of replacing IL2. For now though, IL2 still, after over ten years is holding strong. I really mean this, it will get better.........

Ah would have loved to watch the bits and pieces of enemy planes simply distort when the air around the aircraft wringles it off like you see on those old guncam films. Nice though! Very nice! :)

@Sweler1 Боюсь, что машины такой еще нет, чтобы все это было в детализации шутера на площади карты в 100+ тысяч квадратных километров... в Шутере квадраные километры.... а не сотни тысяч Если сделать как вы просите - то будет 0 кадров в секунду. Ну а для тех кто хочет наполнить жизню всю землю и города - вперез за редактор встроенный в игру (так же как было в Ил-2, но только более продвинутый). Вы бы понимали о чем разговор хотя бы когда рассуждаете о домиках. Все сделано оптимально.

@Bra23we12 I'm going to wait longer than that. First, to let Ubisoft expand the series, just as IL 2 expanded to the '46 version. Also, many mods will be done by then & the bugs worked out. And, as you said, what was once super-computer territory becomes everyday average desktop. I'm still not the slightest bit bored with my IL 2 Sturmovik 1946 game, all being played smoothly on my lowly eMachines desk top. Look forward to the future though.

Сравнивать не с чем. Конкурировать - ну, разве что с самим собой (т.е. с Ил-2). Поэтому будем довольствоваться тем, что есть. А вообще, помнится, когда-то считалось, что БОБик будет рвать КХ по всем статьям, а в итоге он не только не рвёт, а во многом (в зрелищности, в оптимизации) ещё и проигрывает...

Yes it takes a powerful pc to play it, if you want to play games like this, you will need an i5 and a 7850 or gtx 56 ti graphics card.

Когда общественность сможет увидеть действительно красоту и реализм - то, что мы все так долго ждали? И от вас действительно ждали многого! Например, динамическую погоду - это изначально заявлялось как одна из основных фич. Ждали, что в целом игра выйдет на новый уровень - по графике, по физике - по всем статьям! Многое вам прощали, списывали на WIP, но сейчас настал момент истины и... где все это?

@JavelinATR Спасибо. К сожалению мои ожидания он оправдает только частично. Только мне одному известно каким я все хотел увидеть. Но к сожалению не все идеи и задумки вообще возможно сделать. А многие задуманные вещи пришлось оставить до лучших времен. Но главное в симуляторе самолетов - это самолеты и возможность ими управлять, применять оружие и тп. Это все на очень высоком уровне. Уверен что есть баги, которые мы пропустили во время теста, но я надеюсь все будет "вылизано" со временем.

Seems you tend to compare it to IL-2 Sturmovik. 25 planes is a respectable number for a flight sim. In flight sims PC power is not only needed for grafics, its also needed for AI calculation. And grafics are awsome, BTW. It has its flaws, but most issues were solved with the latest patch and development goes on inofficially by mod creators.

@sod16 Yes, but developers can't go against publisher order to implement it. As for perfomance... In original Il-2 there was no one mission over Berlin. Because ih this case was even smaller range of FPS as it is now in CoD over London.With Il-2 original in 2001 were many complains but then all were buying corresponding systems in time.

U nas podstawowym źródłem do Bitwy o Anglię jest "Dywizjon 303", będący w sumie bezkrytyczną laurką, i mało kto w sumie interesuje się tym tematem głębiej. What gets me is during the slowdown you can see the prop blades. Is the prop pitch actually visually modeled? It reminds me of when I first saw the opening film in Il-2, when I realized that the wheels kept on spinning after the planes had left the ground. Was that a Beaufighter I saw?

@OlegMaddox Я понимаю, что текстура, скажем, 1024x1024 будет лучше смотреться на относительно маленьком самолете, чем на большом бомбардировщике. Но откуда взялся этот принцип уравниловки? Не логичнее ли на маленький самолет вешать, к примеру, 512x512, на большой - 2048x2048? Ну, а если уравнивать всё, то давайте и на землю, и на самолеты, и на какой-нибудь ящик на земле вешать одинаковые по размеру текстуры - ещё "веселее" будет. За то унификация!

OH dear, a lot of complaints about no SLI due to epilepsy filters. More complaints about performance, yet somehow when they run the game it runs perfectly on there systems which are probably no better then what people have now...

@Sweler1 А вы и не увидите то, что показано в ролике про домики. Вы же туда приземлятся не будете... вид только сверху в самолете. А для вида сверху - не думаю что будет более фотореалистично где-то еще пока. Да.. и общей картинки без детализации не бывает. А хотите наполнять город жизнью, пустить машинки в нем - вперез за редактор и ставьте-пускайте сколько душе влезет. Только деньги на новый комп накопите тогда.

@FreeRaper если бы на этом самолете такого огромного размера (больше чем Пе-8) была бы текстура такого же качества как в Иле, то вы бы увидели сплошные пиксели. Так что смотрите самолеты поменьше, на которых такого же размера текстура ложится на в 10 раз меньшую площадь поверхности. Скоропалительные выводы делаете :).
