I don’t think I’ve ever seen this. This shit damn near made me cry. (Shaking it off). It’s beyond words how this town, and the time we grew up in, has captivated and burned in our memory. If you are not from those 2 mining towns, you would never know. The music, the video just had such an emotional effect. Thank you for posting

Hank, I was alerted about your great video by a friend from Clifton. Glad I got the tip. I was born and raised in Clifton, and went to school with your Sister. I remember you when you were called “Hanky.” He he  I left home right after Graduation in 1959. Haven’t been back but for a few funerals and short visits. I lived right below you next to Sally’s house. Your video brought me back to a time which I will always remember. They say you can’t go home again and I can tell you, it’s fairly true. However this marvelous video you have brought to KZbin is a great gift to those of us that can remember that road home and though I couldn’t help but notice the changes I can still identify with most of the surroundings I saw on the cruise. Thank you so much for doing this. An excellent job. Started out like a movie and ended up like a dream-thanks. Rick Alvidrez

Oh I remember you played in a band I think was named The Flares (?) I remember my sister, my neighbor and I all had a terrific crush on you and one day you came to our house with my cousin and you dabbed at our friends cheek and she swooned and swore she would never wash her cheek ever again, great memories, but you you're right, you can't go home again, everything changes except for all the great memories we have and Hank's videos and music make them just a bit more real. In case you're wondering my cousin is Max Martinez and I am one of Lefty and Velia's daughter.

Very emotionally charged video for me. Deep thoughts of mom and dad, my brothers, fishing in the river, putting pennies on the railroad tracks, my friends parents, Okie Town Raiders, the floods, school, going to church, Mauds cafe, the El Charo, the swinging bridge, my first kiss, wandering around the town hall looking at all of the Coronado pictures on the walls when dad was a fireman, dads work bench from his jewelry shop that sits today in my office, softball games, my first beer... have to admit a tear rolled down my cheek....our roots!

I have a lot of the same memories and firsts as you. I don't think I ever put any pennies on the track, but I did walk under it one time to get back to school after lunch without being late. It was only going about 10 miles an hour, but still one of my favorite memories.

My dad was born in Clifton in '08. He took us back there in '67 to visit his cousin. His cousin was Raul (I believe) Mendoza. He had two sons, Raul Jr. and Bobby. I believe Raul Jr. committed suicide in the early '80s. We went back one more time around '70. I remember after entering the City limits, we went up a small road where it ended at some railroad track. The homes were small shanty type of homes where his cousin lived. He had another cousin down the hill who would dry New Mexico chili and process it in a garage, or may had been a shack. It was fun time even though there was not much to do. The second time we went, we visited a new shopping center in Morenci and go bowling. Anyone who reads this, do any of the circumstances sound familiar? Would appreciate a post if it does.

awright, first PLEASE tell me Clifton isn't turning into a shi-shi art colony. cool cruisin' tunes, I used to go thru there going to Morenci to see the pit up there, every time we'd pass thru I would look at all the arcitecture, and was always amazed that people carved a town into that little area. next question, is the tunnel still there? I always got a blast going thru there, same statement, seeing all the drill marks and thinking about all the work it took to build that stretch of road, and to dig a tunnel through all that hardass rock. next, train nut., always wanted to go see that depot, but who listens to a kid?,always tried to figure out how S.P. ran the route up there to pick up the processed copper. next, what the heckwas that big ol' gnarly looking machine at 18:05 on the timer?. overall, place looks pretty much the same since last time I was there in the '70's, a few additions but pretty much the same

Hah, when you finally get to the bottom there's not much excitement, but it's home.
