I’ve been listening to and playing blues and rock nearly all my life. I’ll turn 40 this year. Always thought of banjo as a bluegrass instrument and I don’t care for bluegrass though I appreciate the skill involved. Bluegrass is to country/folk what metal is to rock. Lots of shredding. Not much soul. But THIS has SOUL! I will never speak ill of the banjo again. Love your music! Subbed!

When I was a boy I recall Jerry Lee on Sun rolling out his take on “Deep Ellum Blues”, which included the wonderful, borrowed line: “ Now when you go down in Deep Ellum, put yo’ money in your shoes, cuz the women in Deep Ellum got those, Deep Ellum blues!!! I’ve been stacking long green in my boots ever since. Proper advice. My bub just introduced this channel to me. Solid biz. Best of luck

Mr. Clifton Hicks, I have been listening to your music for a while now, most (shallow) people I know will not even entertain the music I am trying to share with them. I love it, my voice is quite like yours only I play the drums, not near as intricate a talent as the banjo I will concede, but I thought you should know my family and I support you through and through. I saw all the vids about you going through the military and I agreed with your thoughts on the reason you requested discharge from said assignment. Keep up the good fight, we're behind you!!!!
