A song ain't worth it's salt unless it tells some kind of story. This one blows it out of the water in that respect. Damn good 👍

I almost forgot how cool those little 10 inchers sound like musical rubber bands. Just tuned mine up a few days ago after months of using a more modern model. The response being so dramatically different I put it down after 2 tunes thinking my strings were just dead at this point. Hearing this puts me in check that it's just the way these cats sound compared to a more modern 5 string. Realizing I'm spoiled and forgetting my roots and it's time to get on back. Thanks Clif.

Ol' Weaver felt, that he needed a new beaver pelt. He was tired of the hard, calloused love of his hand. He went over the ridge, crossed many a bridge. To find the soft love of a sweet velvet glove. He found what he sought, but with danger it was fraught. For he took the love of another man's wife. Now his ass is on fire as he begs for his life. His life was spared, but he was handily beat. Now he's back by his self with a hand full of meat. The moral of the story is don't sneak around, with another man's wife like a mangy Ol' Hound.

Fantastic; makes me think of the day this happened (assume the part about it being true is true, ;) ) and then the musicians working on the song, so many decades ago, the people are probably all dead, but songs don't die; especially thru preservation like you do, sir. Thanks for keeping them alive and sharing.!!!

When you make a 4 string banjo what string do you take away
@CliftonHicksbanjo
@CliftonHicksbanjo 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think of it as taking a string away so much as _combining_ the 3rd and 4th strings into one. Use a wound string and it'll sound nicer, but that string can take the place of either 3rd or 4th when coming up with tunings to use. But historically speaking, the heavy bass 4th string was the last one added, becoming standard by 1850. So I originally thought I was taking away the 4th.
