Hmm, I wonder if the diversion of all the water that went into the Aral Sea by the Soviets had something to do with this? Nah, must be climate change, somehow. And the fact that the glaciers in the Tian Shan and Pamirs are still among the largest in the world is irrelevant; clearly there's not enough of them left to supply any rivers.

Hmm, I wonder why an unknowledged climate-denier like you think that they know better than climate-scientists, and AP. NASA say that 97% of actively publishing climate-scientists agree that humans are causing climate-change.

Aral Sea was depleted largely due to Soviet irrigation projects that diverted rivers which once fed into the Aral Sea. It is in a desert environment with ~90% of its destruction directly occuring after centralized government action. A number of the pictures reflect the damage caused by the authoritarian Soviet state.* If youtube is going to cite Wikipedia, at the very least pin the Aral Sea article to one's limited background material for a better understanding. The Soviet leadership accomplished this as a means to improve agriculture etc. for the sake of its citizens etc. At the time, the Soviets thought this was a reasonable laudable idea. Then we saw the consequences of a ruling unaccountable bureaucracy. This should make one wonder what the WEF and others have in store, intended or unintended, for the world if unchecked authority rules the day. *The AP report does include part of the origin story. It is very interesting and requires more research for those who are intellectually curious.

I keep my eye on Mt. Whitney, it is still 14,505' above sea level. Death Valley is still 282' below sea level. I will know when sea level rises or falls.
