Great show! I appreciate your courageous determination! You got at the root, and that is the entrenched legacy fossil fuel industry is using law and treaties to protect their industry and block change, regardless of fact, science, or injury placed upon humanity!

54:49 On November 12, 2024, a Dutch appeals court overturned a landmark ruling that had required Shell to cut its carbon emissions by 45% by 2030, essentially giving Shell a win in a major climate case, despite acknowledging the company's responsibility to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to protect people from global warming; this decision was seen as a setback for climate activists who had brought the case against Shell.

Have you turned your world icon upside down?

Power cares about little else than wealth and the further power that that wealth ensures. The untenable, inequitable state of our current world is irrefutable evidence of that assertion. Humanity is collectively much wiser than that. Sadly, wealth and power has overwhelmed our collective wisdom. Look around you if you need evidence.

Rachel, Thank you for your work. It is unimportant, but I have to ask if the logo in the top-left corner of the screen is intended to be inverted as a statement that we do not need to follow social norms. :D

The law of the jungle... those who have the power make the laws. And those with power don't have to follow any laws.

I don't want to undermine the courage and the effort. I'm Swiss, and therefore sorry to have to report the human rights cause had no other material effect than our government affirming publicly they don't care. To understand where real power lies, please investigate ICSID, BIT, ECT, maybe invite Matt Kennard (book Silent Coup) Swiss government has already stated fossil fuels assets and profits are not at risk in ch. So we don't risk arbitration under ECT, while Azziende Elettriche Ticinesi is suing germany for planning to close coal plants, under the same ECT

Switzerland is a current state equivalent of wealth management to the various oligarchs and militia of the Roman Empire of private ownership conglomerations, ie not different but a bit more orderly nowadays. Truth in labelling of the numerical identification of accumulated equity in RE, goods and services, ie power over assets +/- separate from public responsibility and reliance on perceptions of legal contracts with some acknowledgement of actual liability for common defence. Refer to Michael Hudson's analysis, and how we present the issues to Economics studies.. Thank you.

The range of guests you are curating here is telling a story i'm not sure, sadly, we can here many other places.

Can you regulate what a company produces? Or do you just have to destroy it? I'm opposed to the death penalty, but corporations are not people. I admit prosecuting individuals in a corporation might irritate the surface of the company, but to change what it produces, every employee would have to change simultaneously. I have no ambition, so I don't know for certain, but I think CEOs just toe the company line. You can't stop a leopard from eating your face, because you don't understand how the leopard works. You don't understand how corporations work. The best guess we have is grow or die, but why risk our survival on a guess? Just delicense an oil major, and all is well.
