Imagine, where your position of your plane or the departure gate has some details that says, "Gate # is for 787, etc; Air France, etc", or even "Gate # is for 777-300, etc; Emirates, etc". *That would've been so cool and realistic too*
@tombrowett80634 жыл бұрын
It would cool especially for the big airports like LHR and JFK to tell you which terminals serve which airliners at the very least. LHR Terminal 5 - BA, Iberia.

Wow, so this whole time I've been doing my takeoffs kinda wrong. I've always known not to use too much throttle, so I would takeoff with around 91%-95% throttle...I didn't know the N1 was higher than that. UPDATE: Just started a flight with an A321...that was BY FAR the best/most realistic takeoff and climb-out I've EVER DONE! So happy I watched this video, thank you!

If youre cruising at 32000ft, take the 32( or any respective number) and times 4, which will be 32x4, answer will be 128. Take this number as your distance to destination. When your display reads 128nm to destination, start decending at -1600ftm, this is the optimal decent

You guys can watch “how pilots know when to descend” video by Capt Joe. It is clear as water. I apply his explanations on my flights on IF (sometimes it goes better than others but it does its job. In short, this is what he says: Divide your altitude in 3 (get rid of last two zeros). Ej: 27000 ft = 270/3= 90 NM. This is the minimum distance you should start your descend to lose your altitude. Now, take your airspeed (no ground speed) and rest 200 (which is the speed at what you want begin your final approach). This outcome, will tell you how many NM you should have to reduce your speed. ej: if your speed is 320 kts, then 320-200=120. Now, 1 NM per 10 knots. It means that 120/10=12. In this example, it means we should then add 12 NM to 90, equals 102. Wind: add 1 NM per each 10 knots of tailwind or rest 1 NM per each 10 knots of headwind. Vertical speed: start your descend at a roughly 3 degrees angle (I think is somewhere 3000 ft per minute), then pitch up a bit and when you’re established-on localiser (if ILS approach) your VS is five times your ground speed. Ej: if your GS is 200 kts, then your rate of descend is 1000 ft/min. There you go. Check capt Joe’s video, he explains way much better than me.

The 787 definitely needs the same treatment as the 777. The 789 was my primary bird of choice until the 772 update. The engine sounds sold me first. Then everything else. I would love a cabin view as well, especially with wide bodies and it would be cool to see how well other pilots are by spawning into random flights during TO and landings or the full flight. The 787 is the most flown plane besides the 777 on IF. I'm glad we got the A350 too but the engine sounds on the 772 are insane! Til then she'll be my primary bird and I'll alternate with the 787 once it's reworked. I even like the improved flaps, more realistic (just imagine how it'll sound on the 787!)

Another thing that really helps is to get good with turning onto the *center* of the runway. Just learn where your particular plane likes to be when you start to turn. I fly the 757 and DC-10 mostly and they like to start turning just as the side of a 150’ wide runway gets to the bottom of my HUD screen…a littttlllle further for the DC-10. I can’t tell you the number of people I see on the servers who line up, turn, line up, turn, turn, line up, turn. It’s really easy to get that sorted out…if I can do it, you certainly can.

Hey Infinite Flight Crew! I had a suggestion for a future update. I would very much appreciate it if the 747 Dreamlifter could be added to this wonderful flight simulator. I feel by adding this aircraft the simulator would have more attention. I understand that creating an aircraft with the opening tail would require sophisticated programming that would take a while. I look forward to potentially seeing this aircraft in the future. Thank you for reading this!

Does this work for heavies aswell ? They behave way different right ?
@infiniteflight4 жыл бұрын
This method can be used on narrow bodies and heavies! Often times heavies have far more power which results in a lower overall takeoff thrust setting to avoid unnecessarily using a ton of performance that in turns burns a lot of fuel. You can still pitch for speed in any aircraft for the same result! -TJ

This can differ depending on aircraft! Many heavies will actually somewhere in the 320kts range while narrow bodies like the 737, A320, and CRJ family can safely climb at or below 300. -TJ

Absolutely! We may add profile tutorials for individual aircraft. The CRJ 200 is especially unique because it does not have slats. The final approach is often slightly nose down! Also because of the low wing design the CRJ series does have a great bit of ground effect. Flaring later than you'd think, keeping it smooth and gradual will help you grease the landing every time!
