Job 28 and 29 my favorite chapters since it is GOD making a case for HIS ability to order all things according to HIS good pleasure. Thanks for the lesson, I'm an amateure without like minded fellows so your videos help a lot. "" Pro 13:20 He who walks with the wise shall be wise, but a companion with fools shall be destroyed. Enjoyed the video. Nice job. I use an adjustable friction saver on my climb line to lower down for the next chunk. I pull down the saver/line tighen below my lanyard and cut/drop chunk. Then lower myself on climb line and lanyard...etc.

I love your videos and work, man. Keep it up. How come you dont have a climbing line chocked off around the stem when working on something so crocked and bendy? Working on dog legged stems is still the aspect of tree work that I have the most difficulty with.
@mcauleyman Жыл бұрын
Ideally you should have something thats choked to the spar so any slips, or cut your flip line it will grab you and hold you. Also good to have if something happrns to you and you need to repel out of the tree Immediately

ENJOYING YOUR VIDS..I NOTICE YOUR WEARING SAFETY CHAPS DO YOU PREFER THAT COMPARED TO THE CLOGGER SAFETY PANT ? THEY ARE EXPENSIVE AND SUPPOSED TO BE COMFORTABLE IN HEAT .THE CHAPS I LIKE FOR GROUND BUT WHEN CLIMBING THEY FEEL BULKY AND SOMETIMES THE BUCKLE COME DETACHED. $400- CLOGGERS I WANA BE SURE THEY'RE WORTH IT.

Hello SOLO, thank you again for more information. Curious if you have a proper climbing gear list or video available. Thank you.

I don't Kaman. It is something I would definitely like to do one day, but it has been tough just getting these videos out due to time. I will do my best to put one out once I can get a chance to catch up. God bless and have a good rest of your day!

When you climb down those dog legs do you come down the low side as shown in the vid? I had a bad experience coming down the high side once where I couldn’t get adequate spur purchase and gaffed out and ended up on the low side anyway.
@SOLOTREESERVICE Жыл бұрын
I always come down the side shown in the video. If the tree is severely crooked and you are on the backside, it would be a bad deal if you slipped because you might not be able to get yourself back around the tree. It is definitely a balancing act. It really helps to keep pressure against the tree by pushing away from it with your arm as you climb down, this keeps your lanyard tight against it incase you slip so it doesn't go too far below your waist. Stay safe brother!

Thanks for replying…still unsure of the best way to climb down the section where the tree changes angle. I am guessing you have to slack out your lanyard a lot at these angle changes to get good spur penetration . That’s where I had issues gaffing out.@@SOLOTREESERVICE
@emzzzz992 Жыл бұрын
In other words how do you climb down the angle transition section of a tree? Because at some point at the transition your spurs will be parallel to the tree unless you slack out a lot. Going up is not so bad but coming down at these sections has been tricky for me. I live in the Midwest where trees spiral, change angles, etc. Before that I lived in NC the land of straight easy trees lol.
@SOLOTREESERVICE Жыл бұрын
You definitely have to slack your line out which is dangerous if you do not keep pressure against the tree since you can invert if it goes too far below your waist. It takes practice, but once you have done it a few times it is no big deal. You can always set a safety line above you in case you slip than you have that support to fall back on. I usually don't take the time to do that. I just work my way back down on just a lanyard but I have done it enough that I feel comfortable with it.
@SOLOTREESERVICE Жыл бұрын
If the trunk of the tree becomes almost perpendicular to you, as though you are now standing up on it without gaffs, I would use a safety line above me in a double rope configuration to ensure I am tied in a second time since the lanyard is not very effective at that point. If you slip with only a lanyard at that extreme of an angle change you can end up underneath the tree in a bad position where you may not be able to pull yourself back up. If in doubt, set a double rope line above you in case you have to repel or pull yourself back up.

Great vid! IMHO the music doesn't add anything. It subtracts from the attention I want to pay to you as you work.
