Are you joking? I love the uk but it's all plains for the most part. France, italy etc are miles above when it comes to scenery. The mountains are taller, the valleys are deeper, the scenery much more varied and impressive

Having just hiked snowdon, using the pyg route. I must admit it gets a slight struggle as your as your near the top but it’s so worth it. I went there when there was no queue. I did do the minors route on the way back as I’m only 13. Ngl I am so proud that I hiked up and down with no food and coffee.

Nice video. I wanted to offer some info, despite of course you not asking! Anyway here goes, Snowdon means 'snow hill/mountain' in Olde English. So calling it Mount Snowdon you are essentially saying mount snow mountain! I live locally to it and it's a thing here, believe me. :) The Welsh greatly appreciate it being referred to as it's Welsh name Yr Wyddfa. Try the Watkins next time, beautiful waterfalls on the way up, with crystal clear waters, a bit longer walk with more elevation and a little tricky towards the top. That lake (Padarn) is next to Llanberis not Caernarfon (which is next to the coast and famous for it's 13th century castle, amongst other things) There is a lovely walk right around the whole lake, perhaps next time you visit. Finally Miners trail is the same way down as Pyg track, they split off part way down the Pyg track, Miners going off to the right part way down. Rangers goes off to the left of Llanberis path but you need to cross the train tracks to join it. It does bring you down on the exact opposite side of the mountain from where you set off.

There is no ubers in Llanberis. It’s a tiny village in the middle of mountains, they have taxi services locally and they’re quite expensive. There is also a park and ride bus which will take you to the bottom of the pyg/miners track from Llanberis.

They said they got a taxi from their hotel, but the start of the Pyg & Miners trails (also Crib Goch but that's not to be attempted unless you're really competent) is the Pen Y Pass car park opposite the YHA. The Llanberis trail that they walked down comes out in Llanberis village very close to Llyn Padarn (the lake shown in the video).

It leads up from the Pen Y Gwyrd hotel. Hence PYG. It is a famous hotel where the Everest expedition team stayed to test their winter equipment and then had regular reunions. Hilary and Tenzing visited often. You can see expedition artefacts in the cabinet in the residents bar. A truly special place.

Half Welsh but pronounces llanberis wrong 😂 the llanberis track isn’t no country walk going up so please ignore her advice as she only came down it, and if your not “super fit” like her and find it “super easy” like her then go steady and enjoy 😉
@RW-nr6bh3 жыл бұрын
I would agree. The Llanberis path, unlike the Pyg track, is an ascent of almost the entire mountain. Should be treated with due respect.
@marko99123 жыл бұрын
@Monday, Tuesday Is My Weekend It's very rare an English person can pronounce the double L, so as a Welshman I can say that pronouncing Llanberis with a single L is perfectly acceptable. The only strange one we don't like is when people inexplicably put a C before the L and say CLANBERIS. Anyway besides that, there's no call for you to go on a personal attack about the way she is. So what if she's a girly girl who's proud of her appearance and enjoys wine. She made the effort to drive all the way from London to hike up the highest mountain in Wales, and that deserves credit, not criticism.

She got to the summit, don't gate keep mountain climbing
@ianphillips20243 жыл бұрын
@@Allisori that’s mountain walking not climbing, and she can’t even see simple signposts that tell you which track you are on. On all descent routes from Snowdon summit there are 1m high stone markers pointing the way down and the name of the track. It’s not gate-keeping it’s highlighting how people can make mistakes. If you’ve got a big social media following you’ve also got a responsibility for encouraging people to do the right thing- or is it just about getting likes and free outdoor gear?
