Honestly, for the ranking event, the main strategy is to bring Worker cat level up combos and cheap units because enemies don't drop cash and you're on a limited timer. Ubers are generally a bad idea because they're expensive and most of them just die to the base, so first form Phono would have been much better here being cheap and basically being a better housewife against traited.

The thing about the Dojo is that you cannot earn money from defeating the enemies, like you noticed. It's really tough to use money there, so it is very very useful since you have less time to grab a bunch of Worker Up cat combo's to start with a lvl 4,5 or even 6. I'd recommend adding just Kunio-kun and Richest Cat, both are 1 slot combo's and will give you a starting wallet of lvl 4. Could add more but that's usually enough and doesn't take much space

The slow effect isn't actually a percentage debuff. it sets the affected unit/enemy to 1 speed.

btw if you want to do well in ranking events, use dasli. the base in the dojo isn't immune to surge so dasli can place a surge on it and cause multiple waves of enemies to spawn, speeding up a lot

One thing mattshea you can use axel for metal units because he has three abilities for metal on first form then gets metal killer(prob not as important cause ultra kaguya) and a freeze along with long range and he hits the enemies 2-3 times a attack
