Thanks for the video, I'm going to Mt Kinabalu in November, your video is so inspiring. Even though little setback (rain)(altitude sickness), but you made it to the top! Congratulations, BRAVO. I hope when I go there I'll have the great weather as you get, & enjoy the beautiful scenery as you seen. You can do it, so can I. To the Low's Peak I target!!

Awesome job. As a local here in Sabah, we always thought that people from the West, Europe, America etc would not have a problem with the cold weather, bcoz they live in a place with four seasons 😂. Anyway, so glad that you successfully reached the summit with very nice weather. I've climbed Mt Kinabalu 3 times and all three with heavy storms. You are lucky to have "Harry Potter" as your guide as well. And he did a very good job taking care of you. Congratulations!

Well done on an epic climbing event.. I did the same about 20 years ago when I was 35 and it was a real challenge.. There weren't as many climbers and not so commercialised back then and whenever we passed a climber coming down the mountain we asked "How long is it till we reach base camp" it was always a cheerful 15 or 20 minutes :) The worst part of it for me was the last 100 meters to the top where I had to stop every 10 meters and catch my breath and then proceed.. I made it to the top and I would have got down on my hands and knees and crawled if I had to but thankfully I didn't have to.. You have done well and will remember this for the rest of your life and feel proud.. Its feels great to push ourselves when we get outside of our comfort zones

Hiya Paddy. Love the intro. Petrol pump dancing. Always makes me smile. Proud of you for pushing on. Pushing through that anxiety all your feelings. I felt nervous for you. Cute squirrels. Harry does speak English very well. Great to have a guide. It would be worrying you being alone. Congratulations to Harry on the birth of his little man. And Congratulations to your sister. How lovely. I am to be a nanny again. My firstborn and his wife are due in March. I love how honest you are about your feelings. It will help so many people. The trees are beautiful. I Love how you soak every part of nature in. Human taxi. Never seen that. I think the anxieties you had. Are normal. Considering the weather you have been dealing with. You had your angels. Watching over you. Perfect weather on day one of your hike. Amazing footage. Harry was right to push on. I think sitting and waiting a while would only build more anxiety. He is a great guide. Wow. Paddy. Beautiful. Harry is amazing. Doing this three times a week. Respect. Congratulations. Amazing. WhooPPP. Love this. Well done. Proud of you, mate. I can not wait to share. Wonderful series. Love your videos.

That was a fun watch. I thought you were making good time to reach the summit but that’s what we casual climbers faced towards the end. Each step was a struggle, breathing became heavy and your heart throbbing hard like it would burst out of one’s chest.

The moment I saw you start without a trekking pole I knew you would have problems. I think the guide thought you wouldn't have problem. I climbed this mountain twice. First time I failed. Second time made it. PLEASE. For those who attempt this mountain. Use a trekking pole. You should be able to rent or buy at the base office. And take some pills for altitude sickness. Anyway, CONGRATS! This mountain is special. The weather looks nice too.

Watched this til I cried. I went there Nov 2023 and it was pouring while I was up from the mt foot > base camp, and while descending from peak > base camp > foot. "Going one step at a time will give you the best chance at success". This resonates so much. At the brink of exhaustion, but I persevered (also just to take that dang picture with the board). Taking 2-3 steps equals to 1 big lap of running no joke. But absolutely no regrets at all, I’d love to go again one day. Happy that you succeeded Paddy! 🏔️

Paddy, I’ve watched your KZbin channel for a couple of years now, mostly because I live in Thailand and I’ve loved your Thai series during the pandemic! In my travels, when I was a backpacker at the end of the 80s, I trekked halfway around Annapurna in Nepal, one of the most magical and memorable trips I’ve ever done in my life. The highest point I reached was 3210 m at Poon Hill, so I know what oxygen starvation was like at that altitude. So hats off to you, my friend for continuing to the very summit of Mount Kinabalu for an extra 1,000 metres! I can’t imagine what that must’ve been like for you, but you really did it fantastically well. Really proud of you. Well done! Loved your Switzerland series, your recent Bali trip, I have really enjoyed your Borneo series too, capped by this fantastic achievement!! Looking forward to Sri Lanka next!! When are you ever going to make it home to visit your family?

Well done mate. I could see your nerves at the start there and recognise it when I've had it that bad before. It's funny sometimes we can do anything and nothings a problem and other days the nevrse kick in almost to the point of panic attack and it disables you in a way. It derails all rationality and lies to us about our own strength and ability. You pushed through it and nailed it. I think like many things in life once you start and you find a rhythm it all becomes a bit easier. Nice one pal. High fives! Xx
