What’s the difference between a large pizza and a mountain guide? A large pizza can feed a family of four.

Real climbing photographic video that give a great sense of difficulty and exposure. Not the shots from go-pro head cameras which often make easy climbs look difficult and do nothing for enhancement of serious climbs. Wonderful climbing/mountaineering and photography from dedicated climbers

What was the on route pack? Also what are the layers if you know them.
@hannesschubert89708 күн бұрын
There also seems to be an unreleased Patagonia pack @2:15 in the tent. Looks like a dyneema or ultra fabric and must be quite large as it was Tylers pack for the approach. Pretty stoked to see what Patagonia is cooking up :D
@TheSubieFan7 күн бұрын
@hannesschubert8970 don't be too stoked. On Colin's blog I think it was the m10. They weren't released for like 5 years so it might be a while. Really interesting to see what they have or bring though
@dillproductions837 күн бұрын
Curious how these are shot? As it doesn’t look like the GoPro is mounted on your head, or handheld.

@sokbok9 күн бұрын
can someone please answer a basic question. when coming back down and rappelling is there a piece of gear left on the mountain? thx
@sokbok9 күн бұрын
are anchors left while ascending to quickly facilitate descending later? Q2.
@mrthirty11399 күн бұрын
Yes, probably just pieces of cord with maillons
@dillproductions837 күн бұрын
Depends on the route, often popular routes have permanent fixed anchors such as bolts. But in Patagonia fixed anchors are likely slung blocks or fixed semipermanent gear such as nuts or pins. If there are no anchors then you must leave behind gear for anchors or cord for slinging blocks.

Hey Tyler, being a professional climber, a couple questions for you if you have time. What do you think of the Garmin watches? What do you use for navigation?
@TheSubieFan9 күн бұрын
Tyler won't answer the watch is nice no nav maybe a quick look at the phone. Colin im sure knows the area
@tylerkarow9 күн бұрын
I’ve never used a gps watch and don’t have any plans to. Occasionally I will use GAIA GPS on my phone but the paper map in the Patagonia Vertical guidebook is good enough for down here
