I’m one of the old ladies who watch tree work videos. Found you while watching a Guilty of Treeson video. Glad I did.

The underwater part was fun with the Simon & Garfunkel song. Really neat way to trim that tree by climbing up the rope. I've never seen that around where I live. I've only seen big cherry pickers that just crush the landscaping on the way to the trees.

I thought the underwater part was funny too. I just re watched it and it still makes me laugh.

Really enjoyed seeing how you do some of the trim work. Especially since one of those bad boy trees was mine! Fun watching you guys in action.

I love lake jobs!! Especially in the summer. Awesome peeling off saw pants and jumping in to cool off before driving home.

Sounds like a good way to get wood chips off you before driving home too.

Reading the comments (and living in Washington) I agree with you about spiking thick bark trees not being a big deal but at the end of the day hookless climbing is not a bad practice to keep in your pocket for when you potentially find yourself needing to be hookless in a large conifer heritage tree or whatever the case is. Side note, that wasn’t a sweet gum

Great video as always 🤙🏻. Is there anyway to tell that the birch above the lake was solidly in the ground with no “rot” that would not have been good ; or just experience type thing ? Thnx…

I'm not sure. I give it a good shake and if it feels planted, I go for it!

So notch runner pro could be used as double rope system,just not that convenient,but still does the job? Thx

So unnecessary gaff marks in the fir 🤦♂️
@VeteranTreeServiceАй бұрын
That fir does not care that I was in it. It'll live for another 100+ years. Don't believe the hype that spiking thick bark trees hurts them.
@brandon-rustystreecareАй бұрын
@@VeteranTreeService it just unnecessary wounds and marks in the tree makes it look like garbage also your gaffs could have a something on them from another tree. You have no been in the industry that long the little extra steps put you above the ones who gaff to prune.

@@brandon-rustystreecare I wouldn't spur a thin bark tree. That would leave ugly marks for sure. The firs up here have 3" thick bark. I'm not even getting into the cambium. No tree guys up here climb these monsters without spikes. Like I said, don't believe everything you read outta some tree hugging arborist books. Including the ISA book. There are exceptions to everything.
