I’m late to the party but oh wow! I have fought with reading the Bible for so long and based my faith of what I hear and see! I’m just now starting to study his word and God led me straight to 1 Samuel! All I can say is my god, my god, my god! God knows the plans he has for me and he is showing me that through Samuel, Saul and David! This study is showing me beauty, strength, bravery, spiritual healing, love, heart position, faith and peace! I’m instantly motivated and excited for where God has brought me and where I am now! I understand timing and I believe every word he says! Kim keep doing your thing and allowing God to use you as a instrument!

WOW!!! This story came RIGHT ON TIME!! As I was following along with you, it's like God gave me insight: Many times, we think that the battles that we face (or the trials that we have to face) are about building our character when in actuality, our character is built as we cling to God EVERYDAY and ALL THE TIME. When trial (or the battle) comes, it reflects the fruit our real character (our reaction to it whether we go to God, our "gods", or take things in our own hands as Saul did). So, it gives hope that we don't have to fear the battle or whatever comes our way: our MAIN DUTY is to cling to God!! Clinging to God builds our faith so when the battle comes, our first "instinct" will be to CLING to Him, He fights for us, and He gets the glory, HALLELUJAH!!!! This was the best way I can explain it. Our God is GREAT AND MIGHTY!! Many times, at least I do, I am NOT mindful of WHO I am praying to. We don't pray to some invisible person in the sky. We are praying to the CREATOR AND KING of the universe, who is has TOTAL CONTROL, so why should we fear or go through life defeated and with our head down?? God bless you sister Kim!! Looking forward to hearing more of your studies!!

Kim, whoooaaa! This chapter was good to me. I read the chapters several times and take notes. Then I listen to you and I literally see it when I close my eyes. I agree with what everyone else said, but when that stone struck and sank into Goliath's head and he fell to the ground face down just like dagon! God is bigger than any problem we may face, even these health challenges I am facing!

Hi Ms. Kim, I love your studies and how God has anointed you to teach His Word. I love how David stood up for God in the face of great opposition. In today's society it is easy (and troubling) as Christians to hide who we are or even compromise our biblical values and principles instead of boldly standing up for Christ and for the Truth of His Word. It is my prayer to be like David. Thank you and God bless you!

Amen.....it's my prayer to have David's boldness and faith as well. Every time I read this chapter, I'm blown away by it. What an example for us to follow today. And thank you so much for your sweet encouragement. xo

Oooooo weee Praise God! This chapter speaks to me about about we look at others and we are overcome with the spirit of comparison. David wasn't concerned with any other weapons the Israelites had or that Saul could offer. He was confident God would bless him in HIS SPACE WITH WHAT HE HAD. I need to remember this the next time I'm feeling inadequate to do something God can bless me where I am. I love Davids confidence

Yes & Amen, Laverne! David truly WAS NOT concerned with any of it. He said, "Let me take my sling and my stones that I'm comfortable with and GO!" I agree....I want to remember this as well next time I'm feeling inadequate. David's confidence inspires me every time!

Oh weeee!!! Kim you brought that study!! So many takeaways! But two things really hit me. One when you said David turned away. He didn't allow Eliab's words to penetrate his heart! I love that. He didn't even give Eliab's words a second thought. Lord, let me not internalize other people's criticism! And the other takeaway is that David didn't let Goliath set the terms for his success. Israel did. When Goliath said If an Israelite is able to fight and kill him, then the Philistines will become Israel's servants, but if Goliath overcomes the Israelite, then Israel will become the Philistine servants, Israel just accepted those terms as truth. They accepted that in order to have victory they had to have one man fight Goliath and win. But they could have ignored Goliath's criteria and just bum-rushed him in the middle of his speech, then took out the Philistine army. They weren't obligated to accept Goliath's terms. David didn't let Goliath set his terms. He just told Goliath what was going down. He was taking Goliath out, then the Philistine army. No slaves. Sort of like what David did to Eliab - David didn't allow Goliath to determine his options. David only followed God! Lord let me be free of the enemy and his criteria for success! Let my instructions only come from You!!!!
@kimcashtate7 жыл бұрын
Ha.... "David didn't let Goliath set his terms. He just told Goliath what was going down." I LOVE THAT. I hadn't thought about it in terms of setting the terms. You are so right that that's exactly what Israel did. And yep, David didn't accept the terms about becoming slaves either. "All of y'all are doing down!" lol Girl, and your prayer! "Lord let me be free of the enemy and his criteria for success!" I'm ready to run around this room.....YES!!! We operate on the enemy's terms of success all the time, even in the kingdom. Lord, help us be free of that! I just love studying with you. :) Praise God for your enthusiasm for the Lord and eagerness to do HIs will!

Absolutely serious! We just watched the beginning of "The Power in Keeping Quiet." ( We only watch a few minutes at a time so they can absorb it!. They each had to a pick a quality from James 1:19 to commit to practicing today. Josh picked slow to speak and Daniel's is a secret! Ha! They are writing their paragraph on it right now. They told me to tell you thank you for the messages (and Josh threw in "well-edited" messages because he's 12 and notices those things!) Ha!
@kimcashtate7 жыл бұрын
I absolutely love that you watch a few minutes at a time AND that you create an actionable item to put into practice! And I am over here with my mouth hanging open that Josh said, "well-edited" messages....what?! I honestly would not think he'd notice something like that at 12!!! I see a filmmaker in his future....ha!

Working through the book of Samuel and recently discovered this Cling series. All I can say is wow! Thank you for the deliberate and focused attention that you give to parsing the word of God. I am seeing all of these old stories through newly-opened eyes, and am amazed by the awesome power of God in using us when we cling to him. Isn't it like God to direct the stone to the only vulnerable exposed area on Goliath's body? He came clad in armour from head to toe, except for his forehead, and THAT is where the stone struck him. Alleluia! This is a reminder that God WILL expose our enemy's vulnerability and destroy them. We need not fear but instead should continue to cling to him.

As I approached the end of this video, all I could hear was "I Didn't Know My Own Strength". I now understand we often do not realize our own strength because it is the strength of God working through us. While it's easy to doubt ourselves, who would dare doubt the strength of God? We all should be more like David and have faith in the strength God has bestowed upon us. Thank you for such a great message, Kim!

This was definitely a chapter that I visualized every word in my head. There was definitely a lot to take away, but the one thing that stood out to me was David's righteous anger. Also noticed how Jesus being our Shepard (like David) He's also a warrior and soon everyone will know Him as the mighty warrior He is and not just the meek Shepard.
@kimcashtate7 жыл бұрын
David's righteous anger.....yes, sis! He truly did have a righteous anger about what was happening and how it affected God's name. And I love your point about David being a type of Christ as a mighty warrior. YES! I love that Jesus will return as a warrior. Our Savior and King!
@sweetfacebf7 жыл бұрын
HelpMamaRemote that's exactly what I thought about David. The Lord would leave the whole flock and go after that one sheep. That's what David did. Of course God chose him to be king. Such Steadfast and immovable in his faith. It takes a real knowledge and love of the Lord to have such faith in Him. Indeed we want to be like David. Love this chapter.

oh wow ! this is so awesome to see the relationship between David and God ! and how much he clinged to God knowing the battle is already won ! Praise God ! I can't help it I'm so excited and overjoyed, because we learn from this scripture that when we put our trust in God he takes over, and while both armies were wondering howDavid was going to do this, it was already done ! Yes ! sis Kim this was so encouraging and exciting and as always you deliver it so well ! God bless you my anointed sis in Christ Jesus and thank you so much, see you next week 💓

Praise the Lord!! I just finishing writing and posting a devotional lesson about how we are more than conquerors....and then I watch this today....yes, yes, yes! One of my many takeaways was how David went after the lion and the bear and then did the same thing with Goliath!!! It is a reminder that we are warriors. We do not lose and we don't run away in fear when the enemy comes to intimidate us!!! Another great lesson!!! Thank you!!! God bless you.

You know sometimes it's hard to stand, but when you know you have God on your side you can stand no matter what comes our way. He's a keeper! David stayed in perfect piece because his mind stayed on God. Thank you Kim for staying on your journey. You have truly been a blessing. XOXO

This Chapter reminds us not to try to fight our battles on our own. The battle is the Lord’s not ours. As it is written in Exodus 14:14 He will fight our battles and we shall hold our peace. We should trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding,and in anything we do we should acknowledge Him and He will direct our path.

Amazing study series!! Thank you Sister Kim. I truly was blessed by your recent testimony, video w/Spec. God is at work!! In constant prayer for you. I would encourage those doing this study to look into the possible circumstances of David's birth and childhood years (family dynamic). This will give insight into why he had to cling to God like he did. And surely the influence of his mother was great. God used the desolation he was forced into to teach him to cling to Him because he had no one else. Its amazing to connect the dots and see God's sovereign Hand at work here. Surely, the man who would be known for securing an eternal throne for Christ, would have had to have gone through the same sufferings as His (the) Lord. Read Psalm 69. These two articles I found were helpful in giving insight: The Bold Voice of Silence by Chana Weisberg and King David's Big Dark Secret by Dean Smith.
