Let’s talk about what’s happening with Rikki… At any given time there are two forces working against us. We have a spiritual enemy, Satan, who is an enemy of God (along with a whole host of demons) and loves to oppose the people of God. He can’t snatch us from God’s hand, but he’ll do whatever he can to keep us from clinging (and enjoying close fellowship and rich blessings from God). He stays scheming to entice us toward sin, including moving us to act out of our flesh. Which brings me to the second force that works against us-the enemy within. Our flesh. When we are saved, our spirits are made alive unto God, but our flesh is unredeemed. Galatians 5:17-“For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.” (That’s why “Just Let Me Cling,” the song at the end of Episode 1, cries out to God, “Protect me from me.”) Rikki is battling the hurt and anger of infidelity-and the desires of her flesh as it seeks its own satisfaction. But the flesh can only make empty promises. She needs the healing, peace, strength, and wisdom that are found in Christ. In addition to her flesh, Rikki’s struggle is against the enemy (Ephesians 6) who schemes to capitalize on the hurt and confusion and draw her into a deeper abyss. This series is called CLING because the most important relationship in Rikki’s life is her and the Lord. HE is her first love-not Shawn. Now is when she needs to lean into the relationship that matters. Jesus is LIFE to her. She needs to run to Him and CLING. My prayer is that the Lord will use this story to minister to you in the areas of your own life in which you need to cling to Him. Let Him be everything you need. He is not only willing…..HE IS ABLE.

As I watched this episode, I couldn’t help but to TOTALLY relate. When one guy hurts me, I will try to find another guy to get attention from. I am not proud of my past concerning relationships. Right now, I am in a season where it’s JUST ME AND GOD! It’s uncomfortable to the flesh, but I am in the safest place when I am with him. I am learning that clinging is a choice I have to make every second of the day. I told God today that I feel like I am losing myself. He told me, because you are dying to yourself. WOW! Powerful. Process is always difficult but so very necessary for true healing! If you don’t take pause & really seek out what’s underneath the constant seeking of attention, you’ll find yourself in unhealthy places. Constantly. Rikki has not dealt with a lingering hurt. She deserves that emotional need to be met. And she first has to acknowledge the need. And how if not careful and aware, the need sits in the driver’s seat of her life…your transparency is courageous. Your posture is wise. The effects are indeed uncomfortable, but sacrifice is usually not comfortable! Praying your continued strength to cling, your attuned ear to the Spirit, your embrace to transforming insights! I’m cheering for you!

God knows my prayers are to have such a godly husband that infidelity won’t even be a factor in my marriage, but when I hear stories about others going thru such experiences, I always wonder how I’d react. I’ve been praying in advance that IF the situation was to occur, that I would Cling to what God instructs me to do, not get even. Not sure if I’d stay in the marriage once cheating has occurred, but I’ll allow God to guide me on that matter 🤷🏾‍♀️

I so love this. It's such a blessing that your heart's desire is to CLING. If you're clinging to God, that's the main thing. You already know that He will be with you, giving you strength, wisdom, and whatever you need for whatever situation. You don't have to lean to the flesh (like Rikki is doing). I totally get why Rikki pulled out that phone after her crazy call with Vince. The grass is always greener.......remembering when people treated you nicely, loved you, wanted you.......but it isn't. Praying you see that before you do something you'll regret, Rikki! You don't need Vince OR Shawn. You need God. But again, I get why in that moment you might be trying to push God to the side, because the flesh wants more. Two (flesh and devil) versus one is a hard battle. God is the ONLY ONE who can win it. #cling

One does have to wonder..when they reach a truce (seemingly) he brings up the additional trysts? Still conflicted maybe? And Ricci all that pain... how come as women we seem to need to belong to someone? How does one get to the place where Jesus is as real as a person or a spouse? When we do not hear the complete details of the depth of the infidelity we can hold on to forgiving the person....but when time pass and the truth unfolds it is like a dagger straight into the heart and soul. It is the act of treason to the commitment and pledge of the vow made before God and the spouse. It is the carrying out the thoughts and acting on the desires of the flesh that Satan sets up so one falls...holding the person trapped into psychological head games of self condemning. Do we play into Satan's plans to turn us from continuing to seek God....NO!!!!!!! We need to CLING to HIM!!! What I take away from this is that a person needs to grieve and seek solace with God. To ask him to hold us up and provide an internal spiritual resolution that restores peace to offended and the offender.
