I am so glad I was born in 1981, growing up and starting to love music in the late 80's through the 90's was the best time period in my opinion. And I love music from the 50's through today, although good music is a lot harder to find today.

This is a good song so very much a huge hill of truth in this song. In memory of a sad story a love affair. It ended in a small country town in West Texas on ( "August 24, 1991") Friday after noon . Had the pleasure of meeting Mr Black he set down beside me and talk to me for 45 minutes and ate my pop corn we talked about life in general he asked me what their was to do in ft Wayne Indiana I said we got a shit load of churches and strip joints and one way streets. I was probably 5 years old when this song came out so I was literally raised on it like so many other great country songs of the 90’s and I’ve always loved it. But I was 35 years old (this year) when I noticed the background singers going “ooh-ooh” in the background on the chorus and it sent chills up my spine and I fell in love with the song all over again.

The parts of the video where the concert parts are were shot at a New Year's Eve concert at the Summit in Houston, Texas, on December 31, 1990. It was backstage after this same concert where he would meet his future wife, actress Lisa Hartman. A pretty ironic twist considering the song's theme of constantly losing the game of love.
