I was probably 5 years old when this song came out so I was literally raised on it like so many other great country songs of the 90’s and I’ve always loved it. But I was 35 years old (this year) when I noticed the background singers going “ooh-ooh” in the background on the chorus and it sent chills up my spine and I fell in love with the song all over again.

It was backstage after this same concert where he would meet his future wife, actress Lisa Hartman. A pretty ironic twist considering the song's theme of constantly losing the game of love.
