This is the most powerful car commercial I have ever seen. This is the ad that choked me up, gave me chills, and drove me to Windsor Chrysler the next day to buy my Hurst Challenger. This commercial aired during halftime of the 2012 Super Bowl. I rewound it at least 5 times to watch it again on the PVR in utter disbelief how something could be so positive, resilient, patriotic, local, trans-generational and inspiring. It encompassed the fighting spirit of North America fighting back from the near Depression of 2008, and subliminally the firefighters and speech about coming together almost hint at the resiliency of people post 9/11. The directing, the lighting, Clint Eastwood's brilliant narration, the hints of the lines of the gorgeous Challenger, and the return to something recognisable. Being that it was themed around the good ol' Motor City it pulls at a local guy's heart strings. Still gives me chills to this day. One of the most memorable moments of my life. Thank you Dodge. #MisterMopar #ChallengerLife #HurstLyfe

Just another brainwashed consumer. Look how its easy to manipulated americans. Just pur MURICA on any products and they'd be lining up to buy. Capitalists are smiling with having sheep like you
@HondasLittleRedPig6 жыл бұрын
You were part of the millions of people that brought these two companies back from the bailout and that’s a beautiful thing. Seeing Americans rally together and bring back the domestic automotive industry is something I’ve studied and researched for many years after high school. You weren’t brainwashed, you believed in something good. While I drive Ford, I pushed for domestic vehicles even if I didn’t own them. Good on you for what you did. Fuck the naysayers.

I often think of this commercial when I see what's going on in the U.S. today. It was an earnest effort and a nice attempt to encourage a comeback, but it ultimately fell on deaf ears. No one was inspired by it and nothing changed for the better. In fact, the U.S. has become so much more divided and internally hostile that it makes one nostalgic for the days in which this ad was released. In the future, this may be used as an illustration of how, at this point, the U.S. was too far gone to actually save itself; not even the best pep talks could encourage the people to give up their hatred of each other. It makes this commercial more of a melancholy experience than anything else.
