It is so sad that a wonderful horse like Mr Ed passed away 3 yrs after his show was canceled. Ed was only 19 yrs old and that's not old for a horse. My horse Melody is 32., so I don't feel sorry for a man that has lived a wonderful life for 90 years. I so loved Rowdy Yates on Rawhide when I was a kid and my favorite show was the Beverly Hillbillies, I wanted to be like Elly May.

That's the directors cut of this scene. This scene was the inspiration for Dirty Harry's angry persona. When Harry drew down on someone the director would yell "Think of what that horse did to you Clint!" He would get that look in his eyes and just start blowing heads clean off. True story.

Poor Clint Eastwood. In the early 1960's, he is talking to horses on national tv, and in 2012, he is talking to empty chairs at the Republican National Convention thinking the chair is President Obama. Before you know it, he will be talking to his Alexa device thinking that she is Donna Douglas from the Beverly Hillbillies.
