Clint was my neighbor. His house was across the street from Memorial HS’s gym. He was always playing ball. He was a jokester as a kid. When I was a freshman and Clint a sophomore, we had Spanish together. The classroom was on the lower level, kind of a basement level where the windows were at ground level. One day, a dog comes up to the window. Somehow, Clint pulls this big dog into the classroom without the teacher seeing him. The dog is running around the room, and everyone is cracking up. The teacher chased the dog and finally got him out of the room and took him outside. A few minutes later, the dog is back at the window… so Clint pulls the dog in again. The room is chaos. The teacher didn’t know it was Clint. He had a pretty good poker face. Evansville and Memorial mourned the loss of the city’s greatest 3 sport athlete. We continue to pray for Clint’s family.

Great podcast. Clints younger brother is my very close friend. We were there in Louisville the night Clint won the car. I'll never forget that day for the rest of my life. Afterwards he gave us money to go play poker. Im pretty sure he gave the car to his mom. This is a great tribute to him.

Ran into Clint atleast twice I can remember in games in Florida over the years. He tried to bet me both times in basketball (I played college and am a good shooter). He definitely was not a hustler- the level of confidence threw me off and I decided against betting him in 3s and 1 on 1. Which is funny cause he didn’t look like he could play a lick- golf gear, little hefty, not super tall. By the time I ran into him again word had made its way back to me and about him and I snap said no lol. He was trying to bet my good golf buddies in golf as well. Can’t remember if they played or not. Real legend. RIP and feel awful for his family.

I was an eye witness to one of his prop bets so I guess I’ll share. One day after a winning night of poker with my friend Nate at Harrison, In casino whatever the name was at the time the next morning my friend says to me “Hey ride with me to the LAC gym so I can take this guys money real quick shooting jumpers” so I’m thinking cool cause I’ve seen him do this literally 100 times so we get to the gym and I see this guy step out of the car with some eastlands shoes and a baseball cap look like he was fishing in, while I’m judging this guy my friend looks at me and says “thats him” man I started busting out laughing and straight up said “light work” man was I wrong. When they first started shooting I know I witnessed them both hit 10 in a row from 3pt in a horse game with no letters yet I said this is gonna be a long one so I went to other basket to play some 21(had I known what I know now I would definitely not have turned my head and definitely should have recorded) after 2 games I came back over and they were tied at the letter O like 30 minutes later now mind you my friend is an amazing shooter and up until this point I never saw him lose long story short he took my guys money couple/few racks. I will also say this I’m willing to bet the guy sitting in the middle of this podcast has some amazing stories of his own I can’t remember how many times I saw that guy sitting with about 30k on like a 2K limit buy in table the guy Len is a beast

I never knew about Clint and obviously I missed a giant. Could you add some pictures or video clips to the show notes? It's so sad when a young person (and that's young) dies, for what seems like a completely avoidable reason.

Usually people shoot half as good in game as they do in practice. 80% from 3 in practice typically = 40ish% in game but there's a few other variables at play
@tommyfu92716 күн бұрын
They don't shoot half as good in games with wide open shots. Being defended is totally different.

From Evansville and Clint was the best athlete I’ve ever seen. You could make up a sport and he would be the best at it. Should have seen him play golf! RIP buddy 😢

@@tommyfu9271 Ive coached and played a lot of basketball - I promise it's pretty reliable for high level players. The reason I said there's a lot of variables is because one season is a small sample, level of competition matters, attempts per game varies wildly, and some people have slow or shitty releases. The pressure of the game and fatigue really fucks with people even when wide open in game - if you watch college or NBA you will see multiple 40% 3pt shooters miss multiple wide open 3s a game.
