For real, I can't wrap my mind around how it came to be. It's one of the great mystery's of life for someone who has zero musical wizardry in them. I've been learning piano just to play songs from the fountain.

This is the perfect blend of sadness, beauty and nostalgia. It pulls the viewer in by haunting images reminiscent of happy memories. All clips look like they could be home movies, possibly real ones. The music gives a contrasting sense of tension that these are all memories that have been more or less been destroyed, or hollowed out to a shell of what it once was by the passage of time

Reminds me of the Elegy for the Rings track from the Outer Wilds Echoes of the Eye soundtrack. It's a track from a game but it has that same sense of haunting decay of civilizations that are crumbling to dust and ghosts.

I heard somewhere that the nostalgia is the easy way of escape. Though, it saddens us. Why would we chose to make us suffer freely? Yet we do it anyways. Some of us actively seek it. It brings tears. We seek sadness and tears. The nostalgia might be warm, but it always appears to make one suffer. At least slightly. We conciously hurt our selves...

This soundtrack is one of my favourite albums! No other soundtrack in my top twenty. I usually listen to totally different sorts of stuff (tho I liked mogwai as a teenager, guess I still do). Hat doffed to you. Hope you team up with Darren again. I'm fascinated by now you seem to have put extra bars here and there, to fit the film I assume, but it sounds so seemless! Geekout over, I'm going to plug this into big speakers and jam along.
