Yeah, I mean people who are fairly well off don't really think they should be the victims of murder, violence or foul play. Bad people shouldn't do bad things to the "good" people. Sex workers, immigrants, people of color, poor people, we expect that they will most likely be victimized. But people who live in Irvine or Malibu? Nope. Here's the truth. Anywhere you go, and in any size community in the US, human beings of all types and ages violently assault and kill. The fact that there are more than 360 million guns floating around in this country makes it pretty darn easy to shoot someone. It's not complicated at all.
@Tsumami__3 жыл бұрын
Certain people absolutely are more likely to be victimized, and certain people are in higher risk groups. Sex workers who work the streets are in a far higher risk category than a sex worker who works out of a strip club, or a bartender, or a married waitress with kids, etc etc. up the line.
@1DangerMouse13 жыл бұрын
Well the reality is that crimes happen more often in some areas. You can see the homicide stats and where they are concentrated. This also applies to countries. Some countries have more violent crime than others. Not sure what point you're trying to make. Violence COULD happen anywhere. BUT it isn't equally LIKELY everywhere. If a sex worker is killed, unfortunately, due to the stigma toward them (which I oppose) people don't care as much. Plenty of stories on this channel involve people of color who were killed and they're covered in the news when killed. With that said, if a gang member involved in violent crime gets shot? No, I don't care as much in that case. Why? Actions have consequences and if someone is purposely involved in a violent life, they should accept the consequences of that. Do they care more about rich people? Sadly, yes. Same applies to citizens vs immigrants. But yeah some areas, some countries and even some groups have more violent crime than others. See the stats on homicide (who commits homicide more and where it happens more).

Shot by someone that wasn't even a camper at the campground as it was closed at the time. From the North side of the Olympic Peninsula, to the South, East and West! Most beautiful I have ever seen! Tall trees (Fir, Spruce, Hemlock, Cedar), not shrubs like in the CG shown. Real mountains (The Olympics). Real mountains have snow on them year round. I don't see any snow on "mountains" in your CG. Ocean on one side, Strait of Juan de Fuca on the top and Puget Sound on the third side. Mountains in the middle. Although the medications work to bring them back to a functional state, they have a lot of really nasty side effects and that cause many people to stop them. Legally, you can't force someone to be compliant with their Meds. My daughter was on an antipsychotic med for a while. Not because she is mentally ill, but to treat something off label. She slept about 18 to 20 hours a day. The medication did work for her issue, but aside from the sleeping, it also caused involuntary movements (twitches) which could have become permanent if she continued the meds. Based on my daughter's experience and the years I worked in the medical field and the patients I knew, I really don't blame them for not wanting take the meds. Especially once they are back to "normal." Which is when they usually stop asking them.

Mental health in this country needs to be better understood, and not considered to be something that continually gets swept under the carpet. It has such a horrid stigma in this country, to be mentally ill...so unfortunately just gets ignored and not treated. As you rightly pointed out, had the shooter had the proper medication in the first place, his thinking process may not have gravitated in the direction it did. More has to be done to help these kinds of individuals, as in therapy and medication, before they escalate into murderous monsters.

David Paulides' Missing 411 profiles hundreds if not thousands of cases that would otherwise never be reported on if it weren't for him bringing attention to the astounding number of people who come up missing/presumed dead that the Parks Dept doesn't want people to know about.
