The Blues Magoos were an American rock band that emerged in the mid-1960s. They were part of the psychedelic rock scene and gained popularity for their energetic live performances and innovative use of electronic instruments. The band's lineup consisted of members such as Peppy Castro, Ralph Scala, Mike Esposito, Geoff Daking, and Ronnie Gilbert.
One of their most well-known songs is "We Ain't Got Nothin' Yet," which was released in 1966. The song is recognized for its distinctive blend of garage rock and psychedelic elements. "We Ain't Got Nothin' Yet" became a hit and is considered a classic of the psychedelic rock era. The catchy, rebellious nature of the song's lyrics and the raw, fuzzed-out guitar sound contributed to its success.
The Blues Magoos' popularity waned in the late 1960s, but they left a mark on the psychedelic rock genre with their early work. While they may not have achieved the long-term success of some of their contemporaries, their influence on the psychedelic and garage rock movements remains notable.

Love psychedelic pop and this particular song, especially the lead guitar and the crisp vocal stop at the end. Also, that TV session perpetuated the director focusing on the rhythm guitar during the lead's key solo. LOL.

Hi Glenn and Adrian, I got to see The Blues Magoosa perform this song and others live in 1966 at my grammar school (Our Lady of Grace) in Gravesend, Brooklyn, NY. I was in the 7th grade at the time. I was standing next to the stage about 8 feet from them. The song went to #5 on the Hot 100 in 1967. I actually performed on that same stage with my own band in the Battle of the Bands back then. They used to have these "Good Guy" shows sponsored by 77 WMCA radio back then at our school. I also got to see The Moody Blues, The Ronettes, The Music Machine and other great artists at my school back then. Great times! Please check out an "all instruments and vocals" cover I did of this song which is on my channel. Thanks for uploading this video and bringing back some great memories for me. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and all the very best to you......John 🎸🎵🎶

I only know them from the various Nuggets, Pebbles, etc. collections that I bought back in the days. I love this kind of music. There was a really fun psychedelic revival back in the 80s (the Fleshtones, Fuzztones, Chesterfield Kings, etc.)
