@@blackkitty420 I didn’t even know who Willem Dafoe was until I saw No Way Home(Yes I saw No Way Home before Spider Man 2002). The first time I saw him as the Goblin, I was thinking in my head; “Oh My God, who is this guy? He’s amazing!” There wasn’t a villain I’ve seen be this amazing and good in my opinion until watching No Way Home. And ever since I saw this film, I’ve started to watch Willem Dafoe’s other movies like Platoon.

Interesting because in the "one thing they love than a hero" scene, Green Goblin could've easily just unmasked Spider-Man when he was still barely conscious but didn't. So there was a degree of respect that Goblin had for him - they just had opposing views.

I suspect it wasn't earnest respect. Goblin's the type to stab you in the back when you're up against a wall. He hoped this act would convince Peter that he's trustworthy, like a devil that tells you a lie that sounds like the truth. Like a goblin that tries to lead you astray when you're lost.

To be fair, Peter was just some dorky dude who has no real idea how to fight. I think that’s kind of why I like him in this film, because he gets the hell beat out of him half the time, and shows he’s not invincible or really that capable of a fighter.

Notice the lack of people in the apartment fight compared to the ever present masses of the Raimi films. Goblin is a sadistic ass hole, so if there were people there, he would use them against Peter. The fact that it's so empty tells me Disney is afraid to show us how ugly the Goblin could be. Willem still kills it tho Tldr: Disney's got no balls.
