I live in northeast Ohio (USA), and the only local stuff open at night is Walmart until 11pm, Meijer's (nicer Walmart) until 12am, and then past that is some McDonald's are 24 hour now but switch to breakfast at 3am or something, and Taco Bell and Wendy's are open until around 4am. I think we have one 24 hour Walgreens with a 24 hour pharmacy too, in the bigger shopping distract that Meijer's is in. I assume this is a similar situation in the rest of America, unless you live in a very big, bustling city the days of having a lot of shopping/eating choices at 3am are gone, and have been gone for years. So if _America_ hasn't done 24 hour shopping much in the last few years, I highly doubt _Canada_ does. Where is she getting her expectations from that anything in Kuwait besides Taco Bell is going to be open?

Mostly because Schmee (Chantal's nickname for her) was too young to handle raising a kid, as far as I understand. I don't know the timeline of it exactly but even with as much credit as I give Schmee for trying with Chantal, their relationship is a bit more complicated then the normal mother/daughter relationship and that 100% affected Chantal. Esp seeing her younger sister grow up with a mother and father, when her own father wanted no contact and her mother wasn't ready to raise her. At this point tho yeah, she's 40 and her mother has clearly tried to patch things up with her but Chantal is too unhealthy, on multiple levels, to not cause chaos in her moms life. (And I personally strongly disagree that you have zero obligations to them when they turn 18, esp in this economy. If your kid needs help, and they aren't taking advantage of you, what kind of parent refuses to let their kids live with them for awhile?)

I don't think that Salah's family is eager to house him under their roof, and he doesn't want to return to the poor bachelor residence either. The only thing is that at least he doesn't have to leave the country and take a transatlantic flight to "walk out", he should just find a decent job with a normal salary.... As for Julia and Harry - he doesn't care about them more than Chantal, the moment he closes the flat door behind him for no return, he will instantly forget them. I make boiled chicken a lot, I take two chicken breasts and put in a pan and cover with chicken broth and seasonings and simmer until done, then cool and shred for sandwiches, salads etc.....she literally can't fathom eating something not covered in gravy, cheese, sauce, butter....

Foodie is still diabetic. There is so many clips from Canada and even a few times in Kuwait where she claims not to have a “sweet tooth” and not really caring for sweets. Now we’re seeing her eat big brownies and get donuts several times. If she’s losing weight like she claims, so fatigued all the time, and now craving sweets, those can be symptoms that her blood sure is dysregulated. This should be concerning that it’s still happening even on her meds and insulin. I don’t know why I even still bother to say things like this. She clearly doesn’t care and isn’t going to do anything differently.

Excessive long term blood sugars + continuing to dump in sugar & carbs at an insane rate = cells overloaded by glucose with nowhere to go & no way to filter. She really has given up. Even with all the different diabetic meds she’s on, her diabetes is still uncontrolled and doing more damage to her already extremely damaged vital organs. She will end up going into kidney or liver failure before she ever even has a chance to lose a body part

Agree. Before they went to Thailand Salah ordered diet meals, got her to do walks, got her on the Cross trainer in the apartment block and recently he got her in the swimming pool. She gave up everything . At the beginning they both talked about travelling . I believe that was the deal, and he wants to travel but can’t due to her weight . I believe that because she’s on all the meds she thinks she’s invincible . Up until now she’s never had a serious health threat . ( Yes she had a kidney infection, which was probably just a UTI, and got antibiotics and was fine !)
