One other method that I had missed for making the animation cels: you can drag-select all of the timings on the lineart folder, right click them, copy, and paste them on the color folder in the timeline. Then you can go to Animation > Edit Track > Create supported animation cels This'll make a raster cel for everything that's on the timeline that's missing a cel.

tips for anyone who might be interested: - magic wand tool / auto select reference layer only = selection for referred layers - you cant paint in vector layer

This is good stuff. Thanks for 'pushing me' to get keyframes on short cuts. For me I use the same method I use for my art. I have 3 ink layers in a folder, 2 of them are referenced. "Inks & eyes" this way I can alter a character's hair without messing with the eyes. The last one is 'details' which is lines I don't want referenced, things like scratches or scuffs on a character. The folder for color has a few layers, Color, 'belly' (a mask layer for tattoos or belly skin/fur if a character has that, eyes and black. Black is separate because I kept running into the color bleeding over the black of a character's eyes or if a cape's inside was made black. From there it's 2 clipped layers: linnear burn for shading at 55% and overlay at 100%. It sounds like a layer mess but it keeps things simple and easy to edit if something is weird or wrong.

I was wondering if I can have some help with something- I want to make a 3 minute video but the movie file won't correctly export the movie if the timeline is more than 25 seconds. I save the project in parts and put them into a Microsoft movie maker, but there's buffering inbetween the scenes. Is there any way I can fix any of this? I upgraded to ex for the longer timeline, but does it have its limits too?
@Zedrinbot4 жыл бұрын
movie exporting can sometimes be a bit iffy on any animation program. Personally I'd recommend doing a PNG sequence instead, and importing that into a video editor (that can support image sequences). Movie Maker is gonna be a big limitation though, it's very limited in what file types it can handle. It might be overkill, but you can try something like Hitfilm perhaps.

Would you happen to have a method for if you have multiple animation folders for your lineart instead of just one? I did this to divide things up with my animation to make animating the lineart easier but now I don't know how to approach color

Great tutorial👍...but what if i finished my animation and the client say change a particular colour on the character to another colour is there a way to change that particular colour on all existing frames at once without going through frame by frame and changing it?

this is great and all, and I learned a lot, problem that i have though is the bucket tool. I feel like i missed a step but the only thing that isn't working is the bucket tool when it comes to trying to fill it with colour. Is there something I'm missing? and yes i made a new one like you showed. But for some reason just mine keeps not letting me fill anything in. and yes I put the top lineart as reference layer and yes i put the colouring animation folder beneath it. It let's me colour normally but just the bucket is like "Nope not allowed' Lol I know I tech don't need it, but I feel like it would make the process faster
