I bought this second hand on vinyl, it was perfect condition and shipped from Canada to the UK. I was so excited I flipped it around, the vinyl fell out and I cracked the first 8 bars ….

Can definitely hear the progression between old jungle-y jump-up and the new stuff (clownstep) that's a lot more distorted and stuff. I don't really listen to Clipz (more of a techstep/neurofunk/darkstep kind of guy) but I think him and most other jump up producers get too much shit. There's too much hate between the subgenres, besides, it's all dnb in the end... and there's much worse music out there. Everyone's got their own preferences.

Scientific sound design doesn't automatically mean the music is superior, which is the mentality a lot of elitists are in and stops them from enjoying tunes for being tunes!

Because at the time he started putting out these types of tracks DnB was in it's hard/ serious/ dark phase and his sound was generally concidered too ' clownsteppy' for most people's tastes. Of course fast forward the scene to the last 10 years and the so called clownstep developed into what people call ' jump up' today with the influence of dubstep style wobbly bass. It's only looking back on clipz tunes people certain people can appreciate them. Some people weren't ready for it at the time. I always liked his stuff. First heard of him through ' slippery slopes' on the grooverider radio show and became an instant fan eventhough i was more into the darker hardstep stuff at the time.

Charleddilkes cmon man!! This might not be the greatest track ever produced but if you wanting to move the b-line is hypnotic up n down keep moving...and to claim ALL dnb is shite is chronically insane theres good n bad like all genres of music...dnb is thriving you just need to know who to look for n where to find it...
