This approach works the same way in Marvelous Designer and Style3D.

I'm shook that CLO3D hasn't made seams a simpler feature. Great job!

Nice. You're very detail oriented. And I'm hearing the shortcuts clicking on the background. I guess we have the same seed of inspiration on the clo game.

This is a super nice way to make seams but I’m finding I have alot of instability….and it’s random…sometimes it’s sitting great then suddenly it becomes very unstable…..but question do you stitch the seam allowance to the main fabric to hold it in place?

haha yes, it's not a method that works always and for every item, that's for sure. 😄 For final result, I don't stitch seam allowances to main fabric, but while I am still working on the item, I do keep some sewing lines to keep the simulation stable.

Hi i have another question!! I followed this technique to add a folded hem to my dress shirt (learning a lot in the process, crazy how one step wrong can mess it all up haha) I was wondering if people generally finish their hems like this? or do they leave them single layered and flat? (and how you prefer to do it?) sorry it's a very beginner question... not the most interesting

About shirt hems I usually add a separate pattern piece to fake the fold-up. Especially if the hem is very shaped, doing a real fold up is a bit of an overkill. And as far as I have seen other's work, either they also use a separate pattern piece, or leave it flat. This method here is good if you want to do close-up renders and show off fine detail. But in regular work, where you check design ideas or prints and make full size renders it is not necessary I think. :)

@@stitchandrender Ok thank you so much for your help again!! It makes a lot of sense, i was wondering in the end if it wouldnt be better to fake it with a separate pattern piece (make a facing basically), especially since the turned hem is so finicky. I'll keep this in mind in the future😃 tyyy

Nice video! How did you hide the sleeve while simulating the seam allowance?

When you click on a pattern piece in 3D window and press Shift+Q you can show/hide the pattern piece.

Excellent work. Your technique is very detailed and thorough, great for understanding how to manipulate/create realistic seams. For beginners I suggest taking a look at this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gneqhqeZotV_mbM Both of your videos provided a nice workflow for making seams. Thanks so much!
