I love grandfather clocks, we had one in the hallway of the house I grew up in. It was so stately and reliable. When I came home from school one day it was gone, My mother traded it with my uncle(her brother)for a small old clock that never worked, talk about disappointment, I missed hearing that clock for a long time.

Hurrah! What a pleasant sound! The fourth quarter sequence of Westminster chime melody followed by twelve strikes as chord strokes on tuned set of tubular bells is pleasant to hear. Nowadays these types of clocks are recorded and programmed in electronic circuit board of sound chips connected to speaker and installed in some quartz clocks of Citizen, Seiko and Rhythm so that they electronically imitates the same (musical sequences at every quarter hour and number of hours as chord strokes following the fourth quarter on tuned set of tubular bells). But they can't beat the real chimes like this.

There's something about a real chiming clock, it is a feeling that not all clocks need to be battery operated or on a loop system and if you do happen to have a genuine clock or church bells that can be rung it's so much nicer. 🤗.

Poor people who have no enough money to buy these types of clocks will buy battery operated clocks that uses quartz crystal oscillator to drive the lavet stepping motor which drives the motion work of the clock because battery operated clocks are cheaper in price than spring driven clocks.

I love grandfather clocks but they are a bit spooky. I admit if I did own one and it stopped for no apparent reason it would freak me out, I've always wanted a chiming clock and so I'll settle for a Herlme chiming clock. I always believe that the ticking of a clock is the heartbeat of a home. I'm really looking forward to buying one then the house will feel complete, I don't know what my Canary will be thinking but after a while I think he will get used to it, I don't really want to turn the chimes off through the night, we'll see. ❤.
