A better way to make RFID more secure: Don't use it for things that need any level of security. ;)

no, just two or three factor. All methods of security are at risk, nothing is unbreakable... more barriers means less chance of infiltration

Yeah, could be used as a second factor. Face recognition can be beaten using photogrammetry and a 3d printer. Fingerprints can be lifted. Most people suck at choosing passwords. (Yes I'm talking to you mr. Dog's name + anniversary date). It's all flawed. Who even needs to crack any of that though when you can socially engineer them into giving it directly to you?

New subscriber ... Been into locksports for years and I just got into playing around with RFID fobs. I needed one for my hid fob and had no problem. I notice after trying to copy a friend fob I had an issue with his Keri series fob but the 22 key digital smart card rfid reader writer machine with HD display from Amazon wouldn't read or write it. Could you if possible do a video on the best handheld machine for fobs and the type of fob. Can I use a chameleon proxmark on a smart phone or tablet ? Okay so for more secure RFID systems use a system that sends out 2 separate codes to a RFID card now that card using wireless charging needs to match those codes with its data and the responds with a code that changes every time by changing the encryption every 5 seconds

Here's a question. I have a nfc/RFID ring I wear and I'd like to copy my work ID card that uses a pin. Is it possible emulate the HID card to my ring? It would be nice to have my ring as a primary or a backup.

Yes it is and fairly easy to do, if you check my videos I cloned my condo key(Keri) to a 125khz t5577 smart ring.

So what is the difference from using this or RC522 along with raspberry pi

RC522 uses 13.56MHz and only compatible with MIFARE RFID tags, so it won't be able to scan any 125KHz RFID card neither will it be able to scan Type1, orType3 tags

Question: could this be miniaturised and used as a hand implant? To basically function identical to the types of chips used buy some companies now? and might be possible to store multiple codes with a kill switch so that when you aren't using it it's nonfunctional? Basically, I'm thinking that it would be interesting if instead of using the technology to steal cards if you used it to make cards non-functional so they couldn't be stolen from.

If you want to have a fire hazard in your hand then go ahead and implant a LiPo into it. If you are refering to NFC/RFID implants, then you seem to not understand the technology at all. In this case you should read up more about the topic.

hi what's the diference between proxmark 3rdv2 and proxmark 4?

Standalone mode doesnt work properly. Custom HF Tag is read and stored into memory. Simulating/Emulating the Tag doesnt work though - the RFID-RC522 doesnt react at all to the proximity of the proxmark.

How close to the target card would the Proxmark3 V2 have to be to copy it ?

Stock antenna is typical range of a centimeter or so. But you can build your own antennas as well.

They are designed for third world countries like the USA that still use LF. In Europe or Africa such a device is useless.

I would not recommend the Proxmark Easy. The best at the moment is Proxmark3 RDV from Elechouse in my opinion. There are 3 different major versions: Elechouse: Got good wire-anntenas, can be customized a bit with screws and has two plates to protect the board, has battery support to run without the usb cable. Rysccorp: Antenas are printed on PCBs, its got a plastic casing around it, no battery connector. RFX: PCB and wire-anntenas, no casing, no battery connector My Elechouse PM3 got a slightly unresponsive button (just the button defective, lika loose wire), but otherwise its working fine. And the price got reduced from 400$ to just like 200$ a while ago.
