Shaking my head as I’m watching this. These boys were lucky. Hope they learn from this terrifying moment.

That is the kind of lesson you learn once in life. Luckily they are alive to talk about it. I can't blame them as my friends and I were the same way at that age. I came close to losing my life a couple of times when I was a kid.

Nominees for the 2022 Darwin Awards.

No, for them to be nominees the train would have to have hit them.

I bet if any of these kids were hit, their families would be suing the GoTrain. It's always someone else's fault. Not enough signage, not enough deterrents and etc. These kids don't need to be educated about how dangerous it was. They knew and chose to do it anyways. They should press charges, fine them, and make it as memorable for them as possible so they don't do it again.

1.Tracks are a property of the railways and the boys were trespassing. 2.Unlike a car or a bus, the train travels on the same path everytime. Threse are the two reasons the train drivers and the railway companies cannot be sued under any grounds.

@@Voraciousvoyager I agree and most people with common sense would. Unfortunately, common sense is a rarity these days and it wouldn’t stop them from trying. There is a case in Ottawa where these teenagers trespassed onto an unused bridge. They jumped off it, one of the kids drowned and now the parents are using the city for millions because of not enough deterrents and signage.

This bully in the neighborhood as a kid was trying to show off to us all and cross a train track bridge over a busy street and half way through he froze up with fear and couldn't move And the funny thing is the kid he used to bully who was also watching ran up and helped him cross then 5 minutes later a train came by. Life before cellphones lol

Its ok dont slow down or stop the train. Let natural selection do its work. Besides, that train weighs something like 10 tonnes. Stopping it at such a short distance is near impossible.

Has no one seen the movie Stand By Me? We used to walk the tracks all the time as kids in the 70s and 80s in Oshawa. Ppl are so bloody dramatic! You know these kids were laughing so hard afterwards telling eachother how close they were to being hit or killed lol....but they're fine lol
