I fought southpaw in Philly and my dad was teaching me and he always told me never to broadcast what I was doing and I actually fight open-handed with use of a lot of elbows and block after all these years I actually didn't really understand what he taught me until watching your videos. I want a lot of street fights because the average fighter had no clue as to what I was doing and me being a southpaw definitely didn't help them much at all

Take the inertia from the opening door, add power to an uppercut or hook launched near simultaneous from the opposite side. As demo'd you're in forearm almost elbow range. Great stuff as usual, thanks!

Impressive. Looks like the Open Door technique is perfect to combine with a center line Wing Chun punch to the bicep in a sort of a modified "Tan-Da" to complete the destruction of the attacker's limb especially if he is a lot bigger, tougher and stronger than you or if you are a small woman against a skilled boxer twice your size as simply wrapping the arm might get you wrestled as he can still utilize his other arm to take you down. And in case he will still trade with you with his other hook or overhand, you could simply retract that centerline punch into a close door and turn it into an elbow to shove to your opponent's chest as a follow up movement straight away.

Impressive how the punch doesn't land flat, it slips on the angle and thus the impact isn't fully connecting.

I'm Curious, How would feints match against you blocking with your elbows? For example during boxing sparring i like to throw a feint jab and then throw a left check hook while side stepping to change angles. would you throw the elbow up again to block or side step or something? Im loving the elbow blocks though.
@52blocksinfo4 жыл бұрын
defintely can't block all the time sometimes block, parry,slip,duck or move gotta keep mixing it up if you become predictable you will fall for feints

not knocking anyone . but this seems like it wouldn't work with someone throwing combos. one punch at a time the wight distribution is different. especially if you throw a punch and then shift to throw the second one. your body wouldn't get caught and redirected. (my thoughts, not knocking anyone here.) I would just like to see it with more than one punch at a time. Respect!

yessir I have a few up now on footwork ,basically some punches you block and some you just move out the way using footwork making it very hard to land a combo on you but ill make another video

Daaamn straight out of NY. You should start a franchise! I've never heard of 52 Blocks til a couple days ago.. Definitely an interesting art!

@@j4m7yt59 well the reason I said what I said is because most people don’t understand fighting so that’s why they say what you said bout the block. few things this is a demo with me showing the block so people can understand so there is no way to say what’s open from a demo secondly there is no block on this planet that covers everything an lastly in real time I’m punching back moving using footwork ducking slipping dipping so no even if you seen a opening because of the threat of all that you couldn’t risk it the truly sad thing is so many people don’t know anything about fighting so they will say they see a opening from a demonstration..SMH

@@52blocksinfo woah no need to get all mad and I'm a boxer and in my case it's most likely gonna be a boxing match hence why I said "setups" which is what boxers do to get good shots also no there is no block that can block anything but there is more efficient blocks u can use to cover more then just on part which is why I mentioned this in the first place
