Close Encounter with a Brown Hare

I do not know who was more surprised by this encounter whilst I was walking along a field margin. The next few moments were magical as the hare seemed perfectly happy to run back and forth in front of me and feed. At one point, the hare was almost too close to keep it in focus. I felt so privileged to be able to observe normal, behaviour of this wild mammal at close range.
