Close Encounters of the HGV kind

Insta 360 camera distortion, so it may not seem clear, I was already committed and truck had stopped for me. 50 yards. I proceeded then truck pulled out as I am at 25 mph. Truck driver did apologise and car behind rolled window down to see if I was okay and I wave a thanks. This may not be clear judging by comments as 360 allows for a odd perspective. In this Bell end of the Week, biker ends up in hedge to avoid being squished by HGV despite right of way clearly displayed. This isn’t a bridge, it’s a traffic calming area where on coming traffic must wait. Same is true for red lights and stop signs. truck driver misjudged. Yes sometimes I make mistakes too and get called a bellend too. UK humour and banter not serious 🧐

He was already at and coming THROUGH the restriction by the time you got there. YOU are supposed to give way to HIM in that situation. Bellend of the week indeed.

Thanks for typing this so I didnt have to, also he couldve just drove smoothly and decided to let off the gas once he saw the other vehicle, possibly over the speed limit for it to be occuring like this, regardless cutting 10mph wouldve made the junction line up smoothly, instead of continuing to accelerate then brake hard, and you didnt even go into the hedge. you just decided to be dangerous. TBF the 14 tonner was already in the zone before the bike rider was close enough to warrant giving way to. As a biker and ex-hgv driver IMO that's not reading the road correctly. Don't forget large goods vehicles don't stop quickly.

Yup, BELL END of the week goes to arrogant cyclist Jay Dutch. The HGV was already passing through the narrow stretch of the road but being a cyclist you had to be a BELL END.

Mate YOU are the only one at fault here. HGV driver was already proceeding to go through as you came round, you didn’t reduce your speed because of your ego and then you want to blame the lorry driver? Also notice the road markings at 0:09 SLOW.. learn how to ride better
