I may have joined mid Shadowbringers but this song reminds me of what a roller coaster of emotion FFXIV has been for me. how a girl like me who was weary from WoW's toxic community finally found her HOME in the warm arms of Eorzea. and this song for me reflects that warm homecoming I found when I began FFXIV

I love how it builds with more and more instruments coming in, and then slowly decreasing out. I can't decide if my favorite is the swell at 2:45, or 4:25 when it then cuts back to quieter cello at the end. And that little Amarauot note! This is such a fantastically expressive mix.

I started playing well over a year ago now. A few months before Endwalker came out. My best friend/roommate was playing months before I was. I was weirded out that he was playing it. Stuff like this isn't his usual fortè. So eventually I decided to try it out myself, and it was one of the better decisions for a game I've ever made. Me and my friend made our characters and we ended up coming up with their backstories and their own respective parties of adventurers. They band together as the WoL's or The Knights of Twilight as we call them. Playing through the game together we started coming up with how our characters would act and behave throughout the story. How all 8 of our party would fight together and overcome the odds. How they'd beat Gaius and the Ultima weapon, how they'd defeat Nidhogg and save Ishgard and the dragons from more senseless war, how they'd liberate the lands from Garlean rule, how they'd save the 1st, and finally how they'd save the universe from the end itself. My friend was always a little under an expansion ahead of me because of his head start, but he helped me get there and we always discussed what happened and we'd get excited for what happened next. I beat Endwalker about a month ago and this whole song will always be a treasured memory for me. I'm a Christian man, and I'm thankful that there's some small glimmers of those values seeded in the game. *spoilers* When the Scions start sacrificing themselves to give you a way to keep going on Ultima Thule, I saw the sacrifice of Christ. I kind of realized it only when G'raha did it because that's when this song starts really playing. Jesus died for us so we can have a way to His Father. He made us a way because He loves us so. Playing through this game I've been struggling with my faith, or lack thereof. I've been trying to grow and learn and understand the ways of Jesus and to be a better servant for Him who saved my life now almost 4 years ago. And it's been hard and challenging at times. I struggle with a porn addiction and it has been absolute hell fighting it here and there. But, by the grace of God only, I have made tremendous strides. Not only in my struggles but in maturity and understanding. And my character in the game, named Sirina, has been there for that as well. Both me and my friend have been writing prompts for our characters. Little tid bits in the story. We've even done a challenge for a month and we both wrote a prompt everyday for September. I've wanted to be a writer and it was the most writing I've ever done. But we write a lot of prompts with our characters because they've grown alongside us in our hearts. When we learn something, we write it out through them. My character Sirina has gone through the same heartaches that I have. Albeit with a different perspective and outlook, but her and I are of a similar vein. We've tried so hard and have fought so hard for others and to prove our love. To prove that we care and to try and save others. But neither of us could carry the world on our shoulders alone. Frankly it's not our job to. Jesus overcame the world and only He could. And as I've learned that, so too did Sirina in her own way. Three things will last forever-faith, hope, and love-and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT This song reminds me of this verse. I fought with Sirina, she fought with me. So too did my best friend. We've been fighting together and growing together. This game has been a real and true adventure where I've grown, cried, bled, and overcome thanks to the grace and love of God. I hear this song and remember that even when the world is against you, even when the dark wants nothing but to tear you down, keep you in shame and misery. It could never beat these three things. And God has proven that time and time again. I will not stay down any longer. Through the faith, hope and love of God I will forge ahead. God is with me and He loves me and He loves you. I pray that whoever reads this will come to accept Christ in their hearts and come to know the boundless love I've gotten to know. All it takes is one honest prayer and He can change your life like He did mine. So forge ahead all of you adventurers. Life is an eternal adventure. Even in the next, we will have so many tales to tell and so many more adventures to go on. I pray to see you all there. I love you and God loves you so much more.
