Fantastic work as always, Nate. You are always so gentle with the cows and it shows in the way they don't react. I think you are the only hoof trimmer who takes the trouble to hold the hoof steady with your other hand while you do knife work. I get very distressed when I see hooves getting shaken about whille the knife is being vigorously applied.

That is always amazing to see how much hoof is separated. I checked out your store . What about adding coffee mugs and stickers some time? I know the store is new, but they might sell better. Also silicone bracelets would be great! I'm not a huge fan of large logos on my shirts, but I want to support this channel more if possible. How is your dog? She's about a year old now. I've got a lot of appreciation for you hoof guys. I've had the opportunity recently to watch our local farrier work up close, as we've over the last couple of years got some kind of invasive thorn shrub growing in. The dang thorns are about 2 inches long and go right through hooves, boots, tires... and they're growing everywhere in this part of Texas! At the rate he's been working, the farrier here will be able to retire early. 😆

Since starting to watch your channel (never having known your profession was a thing), other's have popped up in my feed and I just have to say, their skill set doesnt even remotely compare. Your deliberate movements and consideration of the cow to avoid further injury is noticeable. And your knowledge base is seemingly unmatched. Nate... can I give you a Giant compliment for the POV !! This is Spot-ON! I could see depth, saw how soft the corium exactly is when you touched it with your knife for a split second and it TRULY felt as if I stood there right next to you, obstructing your view by wanting to look up close 😁😜😉 No, I know that we ARE often in your way litteraly with the camera (sorry for that 😉 ) but this time.. I am completely flabbergasted and fascinated by the view, the angle, how thick the sole is, how the corium is THAT soft, how you cut... the entire enchilada!! 😲 I thought I had it imagined by now but.. this video showed, no, YOU showed me I was off all these years! Well done Nate! Absolute Congrats and respect from me! 👌👌👌 WOW! Fascinating to watch an expert at work. I used to milk cows in NZ before and after school and wondered why I'd never heard of many of these hoof issues. It seems NZ has managed to remain free of foot & mouth disease and (until very recently) bovine digital dermatitis which appear so common in the rest of world. Also I wonder if cows raised almost entirely in built up feed lots are more susceptible to foot infections than our NZ cattle which are entirely free range on grass?

I like how you are slower and more precise with your cuts. I saw some of these other hoof guys on here cutting so fast and yanking the hoof around more than nessasary and the cows in pain from it. and how hard they rub on the cows' raw skin. And dont use any cleaner spray. One guy even makes them bleed a lot and cuts them. You are so gentle it looks like it might tickle.
