I would definitely agree ke there isn’t much to expect from GIKI, it’s all about its campus life and that really depends on what you make out of it, I have seen people getting spoilt here playing games the whole night, getting in the wrong company jo kud bhi nai parhtay aur aap ko bhi nai parhnay detay, getting into drugs etc (obviously not everyone) and the majority of these flunk out of the university in the 1st/2nd-year aur jo bach jatay hain they graduate with an extremely low GPA’s barely above 2. And since there is no one to keep a check on you, you keep going down the spiral and getting in even worse condition plus the academics are extremely tough in GIKI getting a GPA over 3 is quite difficult and many students graduate with a CGPA barely touching 3 and in some cases even less than 2.5. On the other hand, you get to experience a very independent life here since there is no one around watching you the whole time, and you get to experience new things. There are pros and cons to this place but since you are spending too much money, I would really advise you to think a thousand times before you come here because, in the end, it’s your GPA that matters the most whether you go abroad or stay in PK the companies will screen you off without even looking your university if you are below 3 aur don’t believe in this myth ke GIKI se graduate karo gy tu job guaranteed hai no its not unless aap CS-related fields se na ho, companies consider students from all the universities so you get in competition from universities like nust, ned,etc Jahan GPA ka good scene hota hai aur GIKI is far behind LUMS and IBA in terms of brand value. I hope all this information helps just wrote this since people don’t know much about GIKI and start hoping too much from it when the reality is completely different Good Luck!

There are mixed opinions about this matter but I do not completely agree with everything that you have said. I do agree that Gik's grading system is tough but that doesn't mean that graduates barely touch 3. Also coming to the market value, it is as valued as any other good university of Pakistan. If we talk about job placement then Gik is just as good as Lums (depending on the fields we compare) Since the rise of technology and practicality, most big companies prefer your projects and skills over GPA. Hence, it isn't big of a deal. But yes, if you want to go for further studies then Gpa might be a hurdle but at the end of the day, its you and your hard work. All universities have students scoring above 3 and below 3, it isn't the university, it is one's own smart+hardwork
