I mean, I would! Even his early pieces are well put together and flow nicely. He's a storyteller with a talent for communicating through visuals, especially in regard to portraying a space so you can feel like you're there (and not just the physical space but the vibe). He's only gotten better over time, and honed the technical aspects, so he's absolutely earned this.

@Jay Man unfortunately I have to disagree... New Orleans should have been safe from the storm Even @ category 5 the flooding shouldn't have happened like it did in the city. When we get storms down here the only places you really see with mandatory evacuations are places like Cocodrie, Venice, Port Fourchon... And other places usually south of Levee and floodgates. What happened in New Orleans was a freak accident... It's not fair to blame the people.

@johnmcgrady43974 жыл бұрын
@@derpymcderpster5526 Actually those who stay indoors are at much more risk. Even Cuomo had to show that 66% of those who had the virus were staying at home, with another 18% being nursing homes that were forced to take seniors with the virus. These draconian laws aren't exactly legal either. The truth is, being outside in the fresh air and sun is almost a guarantee you won't catch this. That's why places like Florida & California have much lower numbers, especially Florida, despite having more people and elderly than New York. Our constitution is to restrain government, not the people.

I was part of the opening crew for Jazzland. I worked in the events and sales department. I was hired before it opened and worked there until 2001, when it was in the process of being purchased by six flags. When you talk about the administrator offices being untouched, that was my office. My window was feet from the zephyr. My desk shook when it whirled by. This trailer made me tear up. This park was birthed from water and died in water. Even though there was office drama and the hours were crazy long, we built something together. And 20 years later, it’s still one of the happiest jobs I ever had. I hope you can get this picked up. If there’s anything I can do to help, please let me know. Some of the people that opened Jazzland with me are now in quite helpful positions in film, corporate, and politics all over the US.

Jake, I just want to say I watched it on Prime today and this documentary was amazing! You did such a great job! It almost made me want to cry because of how long it’s been abandoned and how the city (those in charge of forwarding the changes) didn’t try hard enough to remodel the area/theme park. I kept hearing the word “eyesore” and the amount of money it would take to demolish it was crazy. They didn’t even take into account the public/community opinions and concerns when trying for the RQF (I think it’s called). We need more documentaries like this please! Again, amazing job!

Not saying you should do it, but it’s not hard to get into..security does do rounds but as of last year, I know for sure that it had no 24 hour on site guards. Cops patrol once a night and will flip the flashlights around but don’t go in..a security guard made a few drive bys too but never got out of car..can’t park in the parks parking lot..gotta park way off and walk in and gotta be careful where you park because that area is near some serious dangerous neighborhoods with violent crime but park is not tightly fenced off or locked closed and there are several easy spots to go through to get in..as a lifelong Louisianan though, the real danger if you go is the numerous gators and snakes that have long taken up residence inside the park where fountains and pools used to be decoration before closure..gators here can get over 20 feet long and are easy to miss/step on around water..water moccasin snakes are native here too and highly deadly so take flashlights and avoid any standing water, even if it looks shallow. Louisiana standing water is also full of bacteria/amoebas/germs that can get into your brain and kill or cause lots of nasty disease you don’t want to deal with..black mold is everywhere so good masks at all times..mosquitos cause west Nile every summer here statewide so wear long sleeves, rain boots with long pants tucked in and gloves..if you decide to try it, prepare well..don’t just go in and and run around looking up..it’s a dangerous place, cops and possible trespassing charges being nothing compared to gator or snake bites or falling off derelict rides or buildings..lots of abandoned places lovers go in here and take pics and videos all the time..you can see them all over social media and KZbin but it is most assuredly a dangerous place. Won’t lie though.if you love abandoned places, you will be giddy walking the park..frozen in time..for now. As of late 2021, I believe the park/land have been bought and redevelopment is in the works so no idea how long it will be abandoned.

Six Flags did the same thing with Six Flags over Kentucky Kingdom here in Louisville back around 2008 or so. The State Fair Board raised their rent on the property when it came time for a lease renewal and rather than negotiate Six Flags just closed the park and started pulling out coasters and other rides to move elsewhere. There was nothing wrong with the park at all, they just left and tried to gut it. It sat empty for like 5 years and was by then falling into disrepair, but fortunately an investment group eventually bought the park, renovated it, added some new rides (including coasters) and re-opened it in 2015 I think. It's been open ever since and has done well - though we'll see what happens this summer with the pandemic going on. Hopefully this doesn't turn into the park's "Katrina."

It’s in a sad state these days. I live an hr from there. Katrina was no joke, lost everything I owned, 45 feet of water in Hancock county, MS. AWFUL times!!! 😕

Oh I love this! This theme park has always been of interest to me. I love anything Louisiana history, mainly b/c I'm from there. I never made it to Jazzland/Six Flags, but it's always been a place of interest. Can't wait to see the whole thing!

As a New Orleans native who was a kid when the park was active, this project is exciting and nostalgic. It will be up there with "Big Charity" as far as documentaries about abandoned landmarks in the city that really hit home. Thank you for making it. I plan on being emotional while watching.
